Thanks John.  I think my filler must be somewhere around the drivers door as that is where all the racket comes from when the key is turned on.  My operator manual wasn't too specific on it's location and I hate getting under that rig to find stuff Jim

The accursed generator is an Onan RVQV 5500.  I did manage to get one of the plugs out.  Clean, dry, no evidence of gas or oil on it.  BTW, you need 3 elbows one one of your arms to get a plug out of this thing.  I am warming it to see if that will make any difference,.
