Snowbirds... Hi!  How long will you be in Sedona?  We'll be in the Southern Utah area for a few days to a week then on to San Fran.  We'll be going through and stopping in Sedona on our way to Tubac where we'll stay for a few weeks before returning home to Maine.  Gail

    North Carolina

Thank you everyone.... we stayed at a great place last Wednesday night, a KOA in Wade, the Fayetteville KOA, exit 61 on 95.  Wi-Fi and cable TV.  We stayed in a real dump last night, Shell Lake Campground off of I-40 just west of Memphis in AR... don't go there! Tonight we're in...

    North Carolina

We're traveling from NJ to SC just below the NC border.  We're looking for a place about 1/2 way through NC to stay for the night and just off of 95.  Any recommendations?

    Traveling with pups...

Ron D... that was what they were!  Thanx for that description. Ned... than you so much for that Water-Hole tip.  I also bought one for my friend with a pup.  The dish is terrific!  No more spilled water. We leave in about a 10 days, bunny hopping our way across country.  Stay tuned to our...

    Traveling with pups...

Thanx for all the advice and tips.  Oh goodness... coyote bombs?  Our dogs, about 30lbs. each, will always be safely on a leash or in a fenced yard while we're present.  Another thing is the RV camps that don't allow dogs over 20lbs., which we ran into last year.  What's with that?

    Almost new...

Daisy,  I'll be sure to email you and let you know our ETA.  As a child I remember vacationing at Davy's Camp which I believe was somewhere in the Sebago Lakes region.  Richard and I moved to Mount Desert Island from the NYC area almost 8 years ago but I've been coming here on vacations for...

    Traveling with pups...

Carl,  That may have been the source....  we saw cactus everywhere, especially if the wind can blow them around, the poor pups were hopping around not knowing which paws to stand on.  They looked almost like burrs and needed to be delicately removed or we would get stuck too.  G

    Traveling with pups...

Thanx Carl!  It's just plain common sense.  Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!  Never mind the dogs, what about us two legged critters! We found out about those needle sharp starlike spines which stuck their paws last time in the SW.  They were very hard to avoid... is that cholla?  Gail

    Traveling with pups...

Thanx Ned!  That's a very good price too.  I'm ordering one... We never leave them unattended but I've seen where some of the NP's we'll be visiting in Utah (among others) don't allow them on the trails.  I guess we'll leave the air conditioner running while we gone for an hour or two.

    Traveling with pups...

Hopefully this is the place to post this.  We're heading west again in November.  We've got two mid-sized terrier mix pups and the only dangers here in Maine are coyotes, woodticks and fleas.  In NM, we saw signs about scorpions, poisonous snakes, etc., (yikes!)  They are always leashed when...

    New Mexico best RV parks?

Santa Fe Skies has my vote... we stayed there last November.  Good location, clean, friendly, view of the mountains all around, one of the best places we did stay on our whole trip. Gail
