    1992 Damon Challenger Chevy frame

Thanks Gary,  I'll wait till my boss aint here and print it off (300+ pages)!  I have the next 2 days off and the mattress and box springs are already out of the way. The water tank looks very easy to remove. Will remove it and use a hole drill to make a hole just big enough to get a small...

    1992 Damon Challenger Chevy frame

Gas gauge don't work, seems to be stuck on 1/8th of  a tank.  Repairing water damage beneath rear window and removed bed and base. Considering removing water tank and making an access panel to the fuel tank sending unit through the floor above the gas tank, but all I can see underneath is the...

    1992 Onan 4000 Generator challenge

Took the batteries out for winter protection, re-installed both batteries, and generator starts fine.  Was definitely a bad connection on the battery.

    fuel gauge

The fuel gauge on my 1992 Challenger is stuck at 1/4 tank.  PO says he never used it.  He merely "calculated" the quantity by writing down the mileage after he filled the 60 gallon tank.  I have been out twice and have never came close to running out using the 5.1 mpg formula (that's fully...

    1992 Onan 4000 Generator challenge

The generator ALWAYS ran regardless of the switch position.....until now.  Suspect house battery.  Allowed Generator to run for half an hour, switched off house battery switch, and generator stayed running for 30 seconds, then died.  I did put the old starter that I replaced from the generator...

    1992 Onan 4000 Generator challenge

1992 Damon Challenger Motor Coach.  Onan 4000 Generator using two 12 vdc batteries wired in parallel (they share a common ground, but 2 different wires coming off positive posts).  Removed the batteries for winter storage in my garage and placing them on a trickle charge.  Installed batteries in...

    Bob's flyfishing

Made an expedition to Cherokee North Carolina last summer, frikkin rained torrentially for the first 2 days. Being a beginner, the locals assured me the water in the river would recede by morning. Sure enough the water receded and I walked down to the bank of the river in the center of town. ...

    Campground Jams?

I have a Marshall mini-stack with a full deck effect board that I play my Ibanez RG through. I do "Guitar Karaoke" by running my cell phone through the Karaoke machine, then amplify it through a basic stereo amplifier that run 6 speakers in my bonus room downstairs.  I warm/tune up with...

What do you do to keep in shape?

I walk Concourse "C" here at Atlanta Hartsfield airport...It's about a mile one way from end to end.  I work downstairs for maintenance.

Off season upkeep - running vehicle/generator

My Damon Challenger is wrapped tighter than a drum with a 30x25 tarp I bought at Home Depot.  I used a pack of 12 bungees and 3" aircraft grade aluminum tape around the edges, so of coarse all doors are covered and sealed.  I removed both batteries and took them inside where I swap a battery...

    Sale of motorhome

Save yourself some time and stick to a "cash only" approach.  I had been trying to sell a motorcycle on Craigslist and finally had someone interested. The only problem was he lived in New Jersey, and I was in Atlanta. I told him "cash only" but he persisted and insisted on sending me a check...

    RV Expenses

I can imagine!  We have both agreed that the tires on the rear will need replacement before we take it back out again. I've already located a shop near the house that will do it for around $1100.  We're just waiting for a few things.  We have been without a contract here at work for 5+ years and...

    Convince the wife? How?

As far as the price of the rig, if your good with mechanical things, you have a much larger market to choose from.  I bought a 1992 (25 year old) 31 foot motorhome for $6500. I've removed and repaired the generator set that I broke (starter), replaced the freshwater tank fill hose (free at...

onoa generator smokes when trying to start

My 1992 Onan 4000 did the same after I abused the starter during adjustments. I removed the entire unit an found the plastic starter gear had wedged itself against the flywheel.  Amazon had a new starter ready to install for $34.  Piece of cake

    RV Satellite dish?

We have an original (1992) winegard retractable antenna that works wonderful.  Picks up local TV just fine. I use it to watch early morning news.  We have a DVD player for movies.  That's all the TV we want
