So Retirement is here .... what now?

Hey Jaspers "dad"???, We talked a bit in the chat room on an off hour.  We used to live up in Post Falls Idaho and spent alot of time in Ceour d' Alene.  Idaho is a beautiful state, what a great place to start out.  We'll be seeing you in the chat room.  I'll try to get in there at the right...

    Leaving for Baja Tuesday

Our son setup an account with a satellite internet company "Starband"  We get pretty good download speeds he tells me about 980kbps, upload is somewhere in the 200s.  It does alright for our half a dozen machines, especially since most people are just checking email or basic chatting.  Our son...

    Dometic two-way refridgerator

We're going to wait until the camper is off the truck in it's permanent resting spot before we look into the propane part of the fridge.  Thanks for the suggestion on the maintenance.  My son wanted to just spark it up and see if it worked.  It's probably a better idea to clean it up before, and...

    Surfing

The jet boat wouldn't work.  The driver needs to be able to jump oncoming whitewater waves while picking up the towed in surfer after a wipeout.  I don't think the boat would do that very well.  What year is your Yamaha?

    Southern border crossings

Amen to the bit of info on the return.  It is a very difficult passage back to the states.  It is a little less crazy than the TJ return to the north.  But those lanes with the concrete can be a real hazard to people with large rigs.  We advise everyone to do similar to what you did and get...

    Southern border crossings

I believe the border crossing that Tom first referred to is the crossing into Tijuana at San Ysidro.  It is the shortest route to Ensenada, which is about an hour south of the border crossing.  I believe it is also the busiest border crossing in the world.  It is definitely very congested and...

    Surfing

I remember their was a fad for the surfboards to have painted on them a Coca Cola stripe/logo.  That was when Coca Cola got into sponsoring alot of surfing events.  That's great to hear that surfing will be accepted here.  We will definitely have some great water stories from the shores of BCS...

    Dometic two-way refridgerator

Sure glad you guys run this forum.  We just renovated a 1979 Lance truck camper to rent out at a surf camp in Baja Mexico and it has a Dometic two way.  It works on electric yet we would prefer to run it on gas.  We haven't had a chance to spark it up, but when we do threads like this will sure...

    parks in mexico

As Scoundrel said to each their own.  We have always done our own thing and are happy to see others willing to do the same and help others along the way.  It's kinda like the advice that if your going to dive in the water head first you should have someone who knows where the rocks are or to...

    Nova Scotia, surfing and campgrounds

John started surfing in the 1950's.  His surfing never took him up to Nova Scotia, but he has worked in the surf industry since the 1960's and his and our sons contacts there are extensive.  You could email our son at [email protected],and he, or his wife(a surfer from New Hampshire) may have...
