    Super gulide hitch

Remember, their own instructions call for no lubrication thicker than WD-40, so it doesn't get all gummed up.

    Oil changes

what Detroit John sez.  Then write it with a black squeaky pen near the oil fill hole for next time.

    Pull-rite hitch

I'll presume you have a short bed truck -- Last year, I bought a 2005 F350 with a short bed. Went to Camping World (yuge mistake) to have it installed -- all another sob story later. I got the Super Glide 2700 16K.  It pulls the 28' Cardinal fine... but what I don't like is that once you get it...

    coleman outboard motors

I'm years too late to respond to this thread, but just so everyone knows, 30 horse and under Mercurys, Nissans, Evinrudes, and Johnsons are made by Tohatsu motors in Japan.  A new Tohatsu can save you hundreds over a name brand.  Coleman outboards are made by Parsun in China, and parts seems...

    Double towing

I know here in WA state, pulling a "triple train" is illegal... thank heaven.  Check the states you plan on traveling through. Editorial comment:  coming from Montana, I'd see these long vacation units made up of a pickup filled with kids and dog, a 'yuge' 5th wheel toy hauler, and a 19' ski...

    Quit smoking

Never have smoked, aged 63; >> instead I got a melanoma skin cancer lesion removed from my scalp, which, despite all my best efforts, went stage 4 on me, and now I have two mel tumors that set up shop in my lung that're leading to heart failure and possible brain or anywhere-it-wants-to-move...

Is Pro-Guard over my EPDM a necessity every 2-5 years?

I don't know the roof maintenance history on my 2005 Cardinal;  its EPDM roofing is dirty white, and sort of chalky when I crawl on it, but otherwise it's in seemingly fine shape (no holes, no tears). I've just re-sealed the vents, front cap seams with Eternabond etc. with new putty tape, new...

    ProGuard Rubber Roof coating

Certainly not to hijack this thread--  but Gary, I'm in the same sitch as the OP;  my 2005 Cardinal has EPDM roofing that is dirty white, and sort of chalky when I crawl on it, but otherwise it's in seemingly good shape (no holes, no tears), and I've just re-sealed the vents, front cap seams...

    Gary, you're always thought provoking!

    Charging tt batteries

I'll give a couple quick thoughts that many others here (especially RV Gary, who's a battery genius) will elaborate on: It's more complicated than just getting your batts to 100%, but I'll say that depending on how depleted your batts are, you'd have to run your Inv/Gennie for hours to get them...

    Newbie

Like you, we did all the backpacking, then tenting, then we got 2 tent trailers one after the other, both which we loved until the kids grew.  Lastly, we got a hybrid trailer (Starcraft AR-one 15 footer) which had the double bed in a rear fold down exactly like a sleeping area in a tent...

Shocks on my 2009 Cardinal 5th

I've been reading that shock absorbers haven't been included on new 5ths since 2010.  Mine look haggard.  Should I replace them some day or just unceremoniously remove them?

    Goodyear Endurance tires any good?

That's certainly a first!  Don't know how many times I've had to get hunker down there on the mud to read a mystery message the size of two ants:  " $@# psi".  I finally took to scrawling it big where I can see it.  I'm not smart, but I'm beautiful.

How long, approximately, would it take to charge a battery?

Know that a fridge and any type of motors (like a furnace blower) will drain your battery quick like a bunny. From what I've learnt from these terrific forum people is that, No, you probably won't get your battery "fully" charged in six hours from a gennie.... (especially a pair of 6V golf cart...

Coil cords under my old slide-out are saggy droopers...

Bungee cord through the coils may be a great idea!
