    Coach batteries

I used to have a 1990 Coachmen 24' class C and it had one house battery. There was access to the top of the battery via the generator access panel to check fluids, but not enough room to remove it from there. When I replaced it I had to do that from underneath. I used a floor jack and...

Weary of OTT hype stories about the Eclipse

Took these from my backyard observatory South of Cleveland, OH. We had high clouds that partially blocked the corona but I was grateful for what we got. I was in Kentucky for the 2017 eclipse and the view was a little better, but that solar prominence at the bottom was surprisingly bright when...

    Eclipse glasses

As long as the 2017 glasses have the ISO 12312-2 certification printed on them and they don't have holes in them or scratches or tears they are still good.

    Total Eclipse 2024?

DeckArtist I suspect your advise is on point. I was fortunate enough to see and photograph the 2017 eclipse at Hopkinsville, KY which billed itself as "Eclipseville USA" as they were right on the centerline with the longest totality of any city on the path at that time. The normal population...

    Stock wheel specs

I can't answer your question but welcome to the forum. Winnebago does have a pretty good support system so it might help to contact them with your question. Also, it would help if you put your RV info, i.e., year, model, etc. in your signature so others know what you have. Looking online...

    Total Eclipse 2024?

I'm in the path of totality in N.E. Ohio south of Cleveland. It's pretty cloudy here year-round and we historically have about a 20% chance of clear skies in April. Nevertheless, I have an observatory in the backyard and will have an eclipse party with special telescopes to look at the sun...

    Seilerbird razor.

I purchased one and have used it at home a few times with good results. I expect to use it for the most part instead of a regular razor during a two-month trip this year. It's easy enough to use a razor at home, but I like the option of something easier with less water use and hovering over a...

    Travel route planner?

That's a good point, LarsMac. My wife normally plans the routes ahead of time on RV Trip Wizard and finds fuel stops and rest stops via Google, then entering them as waypoints. Then the routes are saved and downloaded to the phones. Google is certainly good after that unless you have to veer...

    Travel route planner?

My wife and I have been venturing out further last year and more so this year since I retired, and we have had good experiences with RV Trip Wizard. We used to have a smaller Class C RV, but now have a large Class A, and RV Trip Wizard has been invaluable in planning routes, fuel stops...

    It's roof time!

Looks like you're doing a great job so far! I did one a few years ago and as I remember I carefully rolled it up to one end and then unrolled it as went along. You could start in the middle too doing the same thing. I would move the A/C to where you have it in the 3rd picture back so you have a...

    Walkie-Talkie recommendations?

We got a pair of Midland GMRS/FRS radios and they worked pretty well for the few times we used them. Like Zulu said they are good for at least a mile or so, and also for parking. Ours have a rechargeable battery pack but can use AAA batteries if necessary.

    Which lubricant for which job??

Teflon is a brand name for polytetrafluoroethylene. It's not clear that any of those cans contain molybdenum, but the first and the fifth have PTFE (Teflon).

    Ford F150 EV test

My son had a 1996 Buick Park Avenue with a panel above the rear view mirror that had a dead light alert for each headlamp, L/R turn signal , each brake light, one for all markers, one for all reverse lights. I loved that car, it was incredibly comfortable and powerful for a V6, and actually got...

Do some types of dicor stay sticky? Or what is this sealant they used on my motorhome?

Hey stillRV, I encountered the same stuff when I replaced the rear upper brake light on my recently purchased 2011 Itasca motorhome. I'm attaching the Winnebago sealant guide that says it's their part 072889-10-000. I'm assuming you can still get it but I'm not sure.

Any way to repair small scratches on our coach?

Depending on the scratches and how deep they are into the paint you might also try a clay bar used for detailing.
