Running 2 A/C units from generator

5500 watts translates to 45.8 amps which is still enough to run 2 a/c's and have some power left over.  I suspect is it's an A/C failure of some sort based upon my  understanding of your comments. A control board or other failure.

    adding 30amp rv breaker panel

True - breakers are to protect the cable or wiring in the circuit and have nothing to do with the overall usage i.e 20 amp breakers are for circuits wired for 20 amps and main breaker is to protect shore power cable. So, what breaker to use at home main box should be sized to the home wiring...

    No 12-Volt power

The most common reason is the battery disconnect switch is in wrong position. I have seen this same problem repeatedly because it is put in OFF position instead of ON. The key will not come out if it is proper position if you want 12 v power.

    Bad tire valve design

Not a bad design at all. They are turned that way to prevent debris on highway or some other object from striking the end in effect leveraging the strike and causing loss of pressure and/or a complete loss and ensuing handling difficulty. One can purchase an air chuck that has both the standard...

    Tires

Keystone RV refused to issue a new placard after I negotiated a change from LR E to LR F for my 5th wheel. I suppose it had to do with some fear of liability as the agreement was a tacit admission that the original tires were inadequate and in fact they are now showing LR G in a Specification...

    Tire Pressure

I think this is a CMA (China Manufacturing Alliance) Brand.  Not saying good or bad but it will probably make it tough to get the kind of information one would like.

    Tires

Not so for TT or MH 19.5/22 tires. For TT -The sidewall tire designated pressure is a standard set by TRA  for 65 MPH. One can increase the pressure 10 psi to drive 70 MPH, or reduce load 10% while maintaining the increase pressure and drive 75 MPH. For MH-the rating is MINIMUM pressure...

    Definition of Gen Prep

This all started yesterday when I was belatedly advised that two recalls were open on my fifth wheel and asking if I had them corrected yet. I had not received either from the manufacturer but one was the Norcold deal which Norcold had contacted me on and  I had delayed until I could get to MT...

AMSOIL ATF instead of FORD MERCON ATF?

I believe their response is too general. There are three distinct MERCON transmission fluids and they are application specific.

    Definition of Gen Prep

Is there an industry std for what the words generator prepped includes. It seems to me that even within manufacturer it varies but haven't been able to confirm because CS people dance around when asked something like does it include a transfer switch.

Your thought on the need for diesel fuel additives

These stories come up from time to time but stand in stark contrast to the literally millions of engines being produced by Cummins et al that do not report problems and for which the manufacturer is exposed to years of warranty coverage and still do not recommend additives. However, the bottom...

Your thought on the need for diesel fuel additives

I  would like to add one more thought to this discussion. Us old timers remember being admonished to keep our gas tanks, full especially in winter, to avoid problems with sweating causing water formation in gas tank. This concern was minimized when the gas system in autos was closed thus...

Your thought on the need for diesel fuel additives

No  longer necessary - the ASTM refinery standard  for ULSD fuel covers this issue. To manage the change to ULSD , the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) adopted the lubricity specification defined in ASTM D975 for all diesel fuels. The standard went into effect January 1, 2005...

Your thought on the need for diesel fuel additives

As I noted microbes can form colonies at the fuel/water interface. These colonies can have parts break off and clog filters. You need a biocide to kill these instead of an algaecide ( as used in swimming pools, etc) for same reason.
