    Bras d'Or Lakes Campground

We have an opportunity to work at this campground next summer. Anyone have any experience with the campground or staff?

    BLM Roseburg, OR

I am considering a 2013 camp host position at one of the BLM parks in/around Roseburg, OR. Anyone have any experience with these folks or the parks themselves?

    What to do with stix/brix?

Thanks, Gary and Bucks2. That's pretty much what we had planned. Also considered renting it (though though this wasn't my favorit option) or just leaving it empty for the short stints we'd be gone. Wondered if there wasn't another option we hadn't thought of.

    What to do with stix/brix?

We've just accepted our first work camper position for spring/summer 2013 and are considering another one for summer/fall 2013 with a 3 wk stretch at home between them. What does everyone do with their stix and brix when they're work camping?

Are extended warranties worth the money?

Foto-n-T, I agree with you in principal that extended warranties are a profit source. However, if one can afford one, it's also a great measure of relief/peace of mind if and when something major goes south. We're boomers in our last year of gainful employment. Though we have a good retirement...

Are extended warranties worth the money?

Looks like we're going to buy a 2005 Freedom Elite from Camping World. They're nearly done with their PDI and have plugged the only leak in the cabover. No other apparent problems. Got a call a few minutes ago from their rep who asked if we'd be interested in a 48 month extended warranty for...

    E350 or E450?

Thanks to everyone for your responses. I'm not so much interested in the toad aspect as I am in any problems either of the two engines have had and whether those problems were rectified for the 2011 unit. Since no one mentioned any problems aside from the toad issue, I'll assume that their both...

    E350 or E450?

I realize that mpg has been discussed a lot here but can't find a thread that responds to this question directly. I'm going to buy one of two 24' Class Cs next week. Either a 2005 with one slide and a Ford E450 or a 2011 with no slides with an E350. Both are a few thousand dollars apart but with...

    2011 Gulf Stream 6237

I'm in the process of buying a used 2011 Gulf Stream Conquest 6237 (24'), 40k miles. Have searched the web for critique info on this but came up with nothing. I've gotten good advice from members here in the past so I thought I'd push my luck again. Any pros/cons about this unit? Anyone have any...

    gas/diesel argument

We're going to upgrade from a 21' camper van to a 24' something in the coming months. I've had my eye on a View or Navion. Went to an RV show this weekend and the Camping World rep advised that we'd get a better deal buying a gasser even though I could expect only 10 mpg versus 17 mph for a...

    View or Navion?

Kamper Dave, thanks for the info. Didn't know the Navion could'nt tow. I believe the View/Navion is acceptable at all national forests, etc. except Glacier NP which has a restriction on length to go over the Going to the Sun Road. Wouldn't want to drive that anyway, miss too much of the scenery...

    View or Navion?

I'm planning to buy a used 2006 -2009 View or Navion once the snow and ice melts up here in the Northeast. I've researched the net and noted that there are quite a few more View's for sale than Navions. Any particular reason? Are there any real differences between the two? Also, are there any...

    Funding my road trip

Thanks to all who responded. Upon further research and more harranging from DW, I've come to the conclusion that the reverse doesn't fit our situation. Perhaps a HELOC as suggested. And maybe I'm just too anxious to anxious for another long road trip. The weather up here in the Northeast has...

    Funding my road trip

Newbie wannabe here. I'm 60, she's 65. We're in the initial stages of planning for our retirement roadtrip. Our retirement income (military and SS) is approximately 60% of our pre-retirement income. Annuities won't kick in for another 8 yrs. We'll need to upgrade from a Class B to a Class C for...
