    Trailer wheel hub

Tod, thanks for the input.  The shop that did the repack said they would actually do the repack.  This is a shop that works on big rigs like tractor trailers, etc.  I believe they did what they said.  The round metal piece that is loose is actually just a dust cap for the bearing, I do not...

    Trailer wheel hub

Thanks everyone.  I did a little cleaning and research.  It appears that is the bearing dust cap.  Yes I should take off the wheel and re-install the dust cap.  I will stop where I can get it checked out.  Thanks for the input.  See pics of good hub and the bad one.  Rubber center of the dust...

    Trailer wheel hub

See attached photos.  Did we blow the bearing seals? We had them repacked just before we left 2 weeks ago.  It looked ok this morning when we departed Fort Stockton Texas.  We are now just west of Big Bend National Park.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks Bob

    Trailer Tire replacement

I just saw the new post.  The jack research is still ongoing.  At the tire shop we discussed the spare and I plan to give it a good once over, top off the air and be sure I have the right size socket to remove it from the rear of the trailer.  It is only 5 years old and has a cover on it so we...

    Trailer Tire replacement

The new tires are on (at one local tire shop) and the trailer is waiting for bearing repack and inspection at a shop that works on big trucks. That is costing more than I expected, but better that than screwing up the axle when the bearing blows.  Does the repack need to be yearly?  Or can I...

    Trailer Tire replacement

Thanks for the responses.  I had thought about asking at my local Tire shop but wasn?t sure they would be open to this.  I will definitely check them out.  And I will see about having a jack along with me on our trip, something that had not occurred to me until thinking on this project.  I tow...

    Trailer Tire replacement

Thanks for all the input above.  After a good deal of research I decided on the Endurance Goodyear tires that so many of you recommended.  I ordered them online and have them currently awaiting installation.  Clearly the easiest method to accomplish the replacement is to make an appointment...

    Trailer Tire replacement

We purchased a used trailer (private sale) 2014 Apex Ultralight Coachman a year ago and are preparing to go on a several month trip this spring.  From what I have read, it is a good idea to replace the tires every 5 years.  Is that the general consensus of the group? If so, I am looking for...

    Battery issues

It has only been a few weeks since we last used the trailer.  And we bought a new battery this spring.  Ultimately I was able to get the circuit breaker to allow me to close up.  I think I need to replace it.  I will try our trailer supply store and perhaps our local tractor supply.

    Battery issues

This forum has been such a help in the past, Bob the newbie in central PA is dipping into the pool of knowledge again.  I have two questions here regarding battery usage and my trailer setup (Coachman APEX 25?)  When I bought the trailer, used direct from the previous owner, he recommended I...

    Trailer Plumbing - Shower

I did a little more investigation and basically came to the same conclusion as all you suggested, just replace the whole thing.  Fear of the unknown is exactly what it is.  Thanks so much for the helpful hints and I do intend to upgrade.  Bob

    Trailer Plumbing - Shower

Hey Folks, I just spent about 30 minutes looking at my shower leak.  Please see the attached picture.  There are two circled areas of the picture.  In the middle is where the leak is coming from.  It looks like it is at the point the pipe comes thru the shower wall where the shower hose...
