What should I pack a travel trailer with?

Alcohol. Enough alcohol will fix most problems, or at least seem to make them go away  ;D

    Good LED lights

I usually buy LEDs based on the reviews on Amazon. If a certain listing has 4,000 reviews and 4.8 stars average? buy it. If a listing has 3 reviews, with one of them a 5 and two of them a 1 rating, yeah I'll pass. Seems to work well using that approach.

Anyone use surge protector on their generator?

If you're running an inverter generator, all the newer ones have a very clean, computer circuit controlled output. Probably as good as what gets "filtered" through the EMS. And the EMS sometimes detects a problem, like an open ground, with generators. So the hardwired Progressive ones have a...

    overnight San Francisco

I'm late to the party, but I agree. Much better to park an hour outside the city at a nicer, paid campground. Visit the city during the day and enjoy all the fun site seeing. Get the hell out of there when it gets dark. ;-)

    Low DC Voltage

Yep, exact same situation and this is exactly what happened to me. I must have accidentally shorted it somehow installing the LED bulb, and then I couldn't figure out the voltage drop until I found the partially blow fuse. It was really weird.

    Financing vs. Cash purchase

Most dealers do this, even if they don't tell you about it. They factor in, at least mentally, the kick-back from the finance company. So it's usually good to not even discuss a cash sale. It throws off their groove and can make them harder to work with. Just let them do their thing, do a loan...

    Seeking Internet Solutions or suggestions

I have an iPad with a Verizon cellular connection. Service is a bit expensive, but with the new unlimited plans it works pretty well. Fast enough that I can have two kids doing youtube videos or whatever, and they also use it to connect their Minecraft worlds together to play together. That...

    Power Cords/Adapters

It also means you can buy a nice quality adapter that you want, instead of spending 200% over market value at the RV park office for a horrible cheap one.

What should I pack a travel trailer with?

Agreed. I buy a duplicate of everything, so I can reduce any loading/unloading of the rig to just consumable supplies, food, and clothes.

Remove tank heating pad to replace

I have tank heating pads, and use them in early spring. One of the three I have (the one on the freshwater tank) has failed, it seems. How do I remove it, to replace it with a new one? Is there anyway to un-glue it?

    Satellite phone for Alaskan trip?

The answer to this is that Garmin purchased the entire Delorme company. They've rebranded the devices, put them in a new housing with a new button layout, etc (most people like the new Garmin branded devices a bit better, but the basic functionality is pretty much the same).

    Satellite phone for Alaskan trip?

FYI, the answers to these are: When you send someone a text, it comes from a different number. It's not a number assigned to your inreach. But if they respond to the text message, it gets back to your inreach. I think they do this based on the subject of the email having a code or something, is...

    Boondocking in a TT

I honestly think you are much safer way out in the wilderness, than in a crowded trailer park, as far as theft goes. The thieves need to be a lot more organized and a lot more brazen. I would worry less about theft and a bit more (but not much) about crazy people, personally.

    Satellite phone for Alaskan trip?

Get one of these. We have just returned from a trip to the Caribbean, and it works great. Works on a better satellite network than the Spot (Iridium has global coverage, and they are investing $6 Billion with a big ?B? in the next constellation, launching now). Plans start at $11/month, includes...
