Just realized I never reported back to this thread that we found the perfect RV Community for us & are building our RV home with attached 50 x 18 FT RV garage at Lake Weir Preserve right here in FL
I expect this topic has been discussed before, but I have not seen it.
We are looking for a new brick & mortar home base to operate from in a temperate climate where we wouldn't mind living year around when we get too old to hit the road to escape heat or cold each year. It should be a...
We were planning to stay in Gallup tomorrow night & just heard there is a serious crime problem there.
Any info about this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Cass & Lyn
We want to spend as much time as possible in WA & OR this July-Sept & are looking for the best/fastest way to get there from our home base in south FL.
Thanks,
Cass & Lyn
Our stay in Kaneb is primarily to volunteer at Best Friends for 2 weeks, although we do hope to get to Bryce & other canyon attractions while there & I guess we could make a trip down to the North rim from there - would that be worthwhile?
Thanks,
Cass & Lyn
I don't want to hijack the OP's thread but I have related questions about visiting Grand Canyon this July in our 34 ft Class A with toad. We will have two dogs with us & plan to stay an hour's drive away in our toad in Cameron. We are not very avid tourists & just want to see the Canyon, not...
Heading west from FL to NM & beyond this summer. We are considering I-10, 20 & 40.
Looks like I-10 is shortest. Any reason to consider going further north to 20 or 40?
Thanks,
Cass & Lyn
Having just gone through this issue (runs while sitting- quits when on the road) I would suggest that it probably has nothing to do with the oil or oil sensor. I chased that for months. Cummins assures me that is not critical & will not cause a failure while moving like described here. We went...
Carburetor was he culprit. Took it to Cummins & they diagnosed it as under-fueling in the carburetor causing vaporization when moving & the gas sloshed on the hot carb walls. A new carburetor fixed the problem. Apparently they are not really adjustable but some come new improperly adjusted at...
Mine is back in the shop where it will run fine when sitting but quits on the road.
Apparently my solution of over-filling it with oil was only coincidental & not the fix. The techs tell me that could not be a solution & could damage the engine if continued.
Fuel pump & fuel lines have been...
We have a new (2015) coach with 100 hrs or so on the generator which has never run reliably since the day we drove the coach off the lot 5 months ago. We have checked all the issues & solutions others have reported & it still is intermittent. It has also been gone over thoroughly by a good...
After not running at all yesterday in spite of a number of attempts, this morning it started up & then quit 10 or 15 minutes down the road. But then I was able to start it up later on the road & it ran for several hours all the way to our destination. Go figure!
I have been unable to determine why the gas generator in our new Tippin Allegro 32SA seems to have a mind of its own.
We have about 75 hrs on it now & it has never run consistently for more than a few hours at a time when on the road. Up until today I have been able to get it restarted after a...
