Boondocking battery charge. Am I nuts, or...?

Thanks all. Lots of good info.  Couple things over the past couple years. The 13.5 v charge on the batteries was Renogy's recommendation for their grid batteries. Commenters were correct that i was not truly getting the batteries charged, and the darn furnace was eating up my juice. (I used the...

    Furrion 10amp solar connector questions

I have a new Coleman by dutchmen that has the furrion 10amp solar connector.  I was pretty miffed that the coach came with zero literature on the thing.  Now, I have a renogy controller and panels that I am going to wire in myself, but I still want to use the built in connector for a small...

Boondocking battery charge. Am I nuts, or...?

So, I'm dry camping. I have two Renogy AGM 100ah grid batteries in parallel. I am at about 9000 ft altitude. 50watt solar on top of the tt and another 100 watt panel on the ground.  Small 700 watt gennie.  Charge these up to 13.5 volts, but by morning I am down to 12.1 12.2. I run lights (led)...

Young RV'er; Am I the Only One?

Be sure to talk with those "older" folks.  You will make some life long friends.  Myself in my 40's and my wife in her 30's, we just bought our first TT a couple years ago.  We don't have to go far living in Flagstaff, but it's always nice to get out and meet people.  Get out there and have...

    Northern AZ in Oct-Nov

There are a couple parks up here with full hooks.  Black barts is one.  We usually get our first big snow right around Halloween.  After that, it's anyone's guess.  We could have an Indian summer or it could just go right in to super cold and snowy.  Sedona is probably a safer bet as far as...

ideas for free standing solar panel mounts?

Thanks.  I think I got it.  I found a nice quality full size tripod at goodwill. Replaced head bolts with grade 8 and just built a scaffold.  Seems to hold the panel nicely. Will need to use some tent spikes to anchor the tripod, but should work.

ideas for free standing solar panel mounts?

I just picked up a 100w solar panel kit to keep my batteries charged on our TT.  I don't want to mount on the trailer. Any ideas or thoughts for a way to create a free standing mount?  I'm thinking something like a tripod or an adjustable frame mount on a turn table.  I'm trying to do it myself...

    Recommendations for a lightweight camper

I'm pretty new to rv'ing too, but I gotta say that might be a bit of a tall order.  We have a almost 300 HP jeep commander and are towing a very light ( 2500lb ulvw) 21 foot trailer.  We still would like a little more in the hills. For what it's worth we got a Pacific coach econ 16bb.  I like...
