    Generator on a $1000 budget

I know this is an old thread but....nope, 3dB is twice the power, not twice the volume.  10dB is twice the volume to the human ear.  2db is barely noticeable.

    Water system

"Don't use the unscented bleach." Ummm, definitely do NOT use scented bleach.  Use unscented bleach, chlorine has a strong enough smell to recognize it.  Why would you want perfume in your water system?

Heater for fresh water supply hose?

Why wouldn't you simply use heat tape? http://www.homedepot.com/s/heat%2520tape?NCNI-5

    Camping near Colorado Springs

In Colorado State Parks there are no fee differences for in-state vs out-of-state.  CO State Parks require entry passes on every vehicle which is $7.00/day at Cheyenne Mtn. SP, or else you can purchase a yearly permit good for all SP's in CO for $70.00/yr.  Those permits only gain entry to the...

    explosion in/near Boise

Al wire caused way too many electrical fires due to homeowners replacing outlets and switches with units rated for Cu, not Al!!!

    Disposing of old rv

Hmm, the local fire dept. does it several times a year here!  Eastern plains of Colorado....it's quite common to see an old unoccupied mobile home set on fire for training purposes on the property where it's been sitting for many years...

I Give Up! We'll Just Upgrade This One!

Ernie - sounds like you need a 5th wheel instead of a Motorhome.  Many 5th wheels are setup for just 2 people and have the amenities you describe - a comfortable King size bed, large shower, real oven (and convection microwave too!), dual recliners and ample hanging storage.  I've just haven't...

    Sprint coverage

There's a monthly charge to use the Hot Spot feature so I don't use it.  Instead go to junefabrics.com and purchase PdaNet then connect up via USB cable.  If you can't use USB then you're stuck with the Hot Spot....unless you "root" your phone but we won't go there  ;) Speeds are usually good...

    Good Sam Insurance

Another vote for Progressive - I got a quote from Good Sam/GMAC and it was considerably higher than Progressive for the same coverages.

Which company makes the best air bags FIRESTONE ???

The Firestone airbag brackets are very prone to bending - The Air-Lift airbags do not have that problem and are cheaper!

    Convert dining booth to table?

Pretty much all Keystone Montana 5th wheels have freestanding tables & chairs like you say you are looking for....the table itself is actually screwed to the floor however many owners remove the screws so the table can be moved around.

    DD-WRT Repeater is wonky

Since you are running DD-WRT software the Linksys manual does not apply!  They are not "external" and "local" antennas.  With DD-WRT, one antenna is the TX (transmit) antenna and the other antenna is the RX (receive) antenna which is why you need both antennas for things to work.  The default...

    Smart Phone Tethering

I too use PdaNet for my Android phone, it works very well.  Sooner or later you'll need to access a secured site so go ahead and purchase the full version, it's worth it!
