I, too, replaced a Fantastic vent fan cover with a locally sourced part. It installed easily enough but has never fit flush. No problem, since we don't get much rain here, and the vent is right over the toilet, should we luck out and have a drencher.

My first RV had awnings on both sides. I used them once. My second RV (37') had a large one; I used it once because it was there. My current RV has one, but I never use it. I sit on whichever side isn't in the sun. The awning is tricky and subject to problems. Much easier to ignore it.

I happened to look at the voltage monitor plugged into a 110 receptacle last week when the A/C was running, and it was well into the red at about 106v. When I turned the A/C off, it bounced back to 115. With the electric water heater on (only), it was about 107. As I recall, this is an issue...
