    RV Anxiety is ...

Oh, I had a tire blow out on me leaving Houston. A hot fix and not fun. Two people backed up into my truck, too while I was working on it. Minimal to no damage, thank goodness. The belts cut up the plastic wheel well liner too. Patched for now, but it's on my repair list.

    Cleaning the exterior

Fibreglass exterior, I think. I should have invested in an exhaust heat deflector, too. The exterior has deformed a little on the side of my tow vehicle's exhaust pipe.

    RV Anxiety is ...

Discovering orphan screws rolling on the camper floor after every other stop. Feel free to keep this thread going with your own contribution.

    Cleaning the exterior

On a couple of occasions on the road, some tar-like black globs were adhered to the front of my trailer. In attempting to wash them off with hot water and Mr. Clean mixture, all it did was smear and leave a grey stain I cannot remove. Any tips for cleaning up this stuff?

Going back to Texas this winter ?

Well, I discovered a great RV park north of Houston in Conroe. Woodland Lakes RV Park. It was a very pleasant find! I had to pull over to replace a blown-out tire on the camper and I saw the destination sign. What a relief it was. I was in no humour to make it all the way to Dallas this...

Going back to Texas this winter ?

I just arrived in Brazoria, Texas. I intend to visit Freeport and Galveston. What's worth seeing in those places ... besides the Gulf shore?

Just a warning for those seeking a Temporary Work visa

I thought I'd share my story as a warning to others. I wish I had read one like this before executing my plans. I am a Canadian citizen who thought it would be a good idea to Workcamp in the US for a while. I easily secured a part-time teaching job and thought I had done enough research online...

The best way west? Texas to Oregon

Due to a misinterpretation of the rules for a non-resident working visa, I am retreating from my planned move to the United States and making my way back to Canada ... to British Columbia. After visiting a friend  near Houston, Texas, I'm off to visit another friend in Portland, Oregon before...

What good are these 12v outlets?

My laptop's universal power supply fits well into my TT's 12 V outlet and sure saves on battery consumption. I do, however, have a small AC inverter that better fits in my truck's lighter outlet than in my TT. Yeah, what gives?

@IHeartRVLife If you would like some assistance home-schooling your 9 and 14 yo, I'd love to give some virtual internet tutoring a try. My specialty is mathematics. You can find me on Facebook under my name, Daryl Watton. Look for the clean-faced professor in the purple mortar-board cap.

    Roadschooling Question?

I'm a teacher and tutor who is just about to begin full-timing with my TT. I'm hoping to use the internet to support students I know and to perhaps do what I can to support homeschoolers remotely. I'd certainly be interested in knowing what you might learn about road-schooling. How old are your...

    Newbees from NC

Well met! I'm actually heading to Charlotte, NC myself looking for work as a teacher. I'm bringing my new purchase with me to try living as cheaply as I can. I've never been to that part of the US before. What can you tell me about the place? Is the cost of living expensive there?

    Green Power Options

To keep costs low, I'd consider boon-docking or dry camping with a solar/wind generator for the battery. I'd assume the a/c would be a luxury only where hookups could be afforded. Most fridges run off the propane, right? I live rather lightly -- or intend to. This is my grand experiment. What...
