2006 Coleman Mach to Smart WiFi T-stat Replacement

Wouldn't you have to be connected to the same wifi network to turn it on/off? If so, chances are you won't be able to connect to the campsite wifi from more than a mile away.

    Replacing original coax

The Yagi came with it's own amp/booster. I used that with the Yagi. (Just connected the coax from the antenna to it). The Winegard booster didn't blow a fuse, even though I did initially try the the Yagi with it for convenience. It's still raining here, so I'll check it all out when it's dry...

    Replacing original coax

I replaced my Winegard batwing with a supposedly stronger Yagi antenna. No channels at all. Previously with the batwing I had 17. Put the batwing back up. No channels. I checked the booster(s) and it is on and working. I suspect the coax is bad. I will test continuity when it's not raining...

Solar Powered Trickle Charge and Charge Controller Setup

I bought a 30W solar panel from Amazon for around $90. It comes with a voltage regulator, but I opted to purchase what I though was a better controller for around $10. It kept about 1.5 amps going to the battery. Worked well for me.

    Fresh Water Pump help

OK, I think I actually grasp it now. I will go to Lowes and buy a check valve and install it on the service line. Thank you Rene and Dutch for the help!

    Fresh Water Pump help

Yes, it does come out of the pump on the side that has the fill tank hose. So, confirmed, bad check valve. I would think it easier to just put in a separate check valve. So, the line that comes from the tank to the pump and the city water bypass/fill valve is the suction side? So if I put a...

    Fresh Water Pump help

Rene, no, the tank is not filling any longer. All I did was take the line off from the side that had pressure from city water and put a water spigot in the line there as I had one handy. No leaks, no water tank filling. I should be able to just put a check valve between the pump and that line...

    Fresh Water Pump help

I'm at a loss on figuring this one out. Can't wrap my head around it or any diagrams I Googled. My city water hooks up to a point on my MH. There is a valve there to fill the fresh water tank from the same connection. It is off, but my fresh water tank keeps getting filled. (At a slow rate) The...

Why is generator tied into master battery switch

I think that typically in motorhomes, the generator starts from the house batteries. Mine does. If I engage the battery disconnect, my generator won't start. If my house batteries are down, I have, as I think most do, an auxiliary momentary switch to add the engine battery into the circuit to...

2 AC units on 50 amp

The tech should have been able to test the capacitor and take any "maybe it is, maybe it isn't" out of the equation. If the AC works, even when you have to do maneuvers with 1 or the other, then it most likely isn't the capacitor. If the capacitor is bad, the AC won't work. I'd get an RV tech...

    Lightning

I think I am just going to mount the antenna itself to the ladder using the 4 ft PVC that I have. I don't need to have it so high up in the air. That way I can take it down quickly if needed. If I were going to use the previous setup, with the metal pipe, I would run a ground wire as John...

    Lightning

I took it down. I wasn't prepared to take the risk. There was no way it was properly grounded, if at all. (It was not touching the ground and no additional ground wire connected.) It's not going back up either. At least not in that configuration. It was amazing how fast that RV burned to...

    Lightning

The neighbors had about the same length pole, except all metal with a plastic TV antenna on top. Theirs was attached to their ladder as well, but it went all the way down to the ground, whereas mine didn't. It's still storming here so I went ahead and took it down anyways. Only took me about 10...

    Lightning

So last nite the 5th wheel about 50 ft to my left caught on fire and burned to the ground. No one was hurt thankfully. It was storming pretty bad and though no one knows for sure yet, the owners think it might have been a lightening strike. My question: On the back of my MH, I have about a 20...
