Stackable Generators with 30 amp output only - ok to plug in 50 Amp?

I am looking at getting a pair of the stackable Champion 2000 Watt Inverter Gens and then get the Parallel wiring kit to make them one unit.  The wiring kit has the 30 Amp plug only, so would using a 30-to-50 amp dogbone deliver the full 4000 watts of the generator? I plan on having a 50 Amp rig...

Looking at a new tow vehicle

The Toyota 4Runner has a 5000# tow rating too, and bit bit nicer design then the Highlander.  Also, did you think about the small pickup trucks (Colorado, new Ranger, Tacoma, etc)? you can put a cap on the bed and get better towing experience.

    Pennsylvania's Route 6

Thanks!  We are a family of 5 with 3 young (6/4/2) kids. So some easy to moderate hikes, fishing with the older two, and scenery/views for now.  We will have our TT, so I will find some overnight stops along the way.  Will come back in the future for the more aggressive hikes and history.

    Pennsylvania's Route 6

Has anyone traveled PA's Route 6 (Northern PA)? We will be up in Niagara Falls in late June and was thinking about heading down to PA (Allegheny Forest) and then head east along Route 6.  Any pointers or items to see/stop at?

    Which 1-ton (new) Truck?

It is a 2019 F350 6.7L Diesel. XLT Trim with SRW and the CrewCab + 8ft bed (drop in liner).  Went for the longest wheelbase possible.  I added the Value Package, then just the skid plates and a center console/ front bucket seats.  Other then that, not other options.  Went the no-frills route to...

    Which 1-ton (new) Truck?

Well, I picked up the new F350 over the Holiday.  Love it so far!!

Winter camping in North Carolina - any tips on where?

Hi, My wife and I go on a long weekend get-a-way on the last weekend of January. Now that we own a TT, we are thinking about using it.  With a 7 hour drive (or so) from our home, we can easily get into North Carolina.  Does anyone have any tips or recommendations for campgrounds to stay at? ...

    Which 1-ton (new) Truck?

Just ordered the F350 last night. Will be done in 10-12 week.  Got a great deal and am happy with it.

These tow capacity numbers can't be right

I am currently in the process of ordering an F350.  In my research I too realized i was hitting payload capacity issues with my 1/2 ton truck when we went shopping for a new TT.  I went straight to the 1 ton because I don't want to have to upgrade another depreciating asset again. The only...

    Which 1-ton (new) Truck?

HAHA, this is almost exactly what I did.  I went to look at them all first, then took her to feel the Chevy and Ford (Ford last).  She is finally on board with a Ford. She had reservations because growing up her Dad and Uncle were all Chevy guys.

    Which 1-ton (new) Truck?

So, after some help from here, a few other forums, and fellow travelers - we are buying a new 1-ton truck.  I am not looking to rehash how we came to the 1-ton trim. We are also going diesel, not gas.  It will be a crew cab and full 8 ft long bed. Now, I have driven all 3 trucks (Chevy, Ford...

    Short Bed vs Long Bed

Specifically right now I am looking at 2017 or newer Chevy 2500/3500 in Crew Cab. So the choice is the 6'7" vs the 8' beds. I do prefer the SRW and not the dually. Wheelbase is 153.7" vs 167.7" respectively.

    Short Bed vs Long Bed

So I have read that a true 8ft (Long Bed) truck with a longer wheelbase is better for towing and helps with the stability.  Can someone help me understand how this actually works? Like the physics of this?  For my purpose, we will be bumper pulling a TT. I ask because I am in the process of...

2014 5.7L Tundra - looking to tow Passport UL 3290BH

Well, after running more numbers we realize we will always be over payload in our Tundra.  With that (while I love my truck) we are going to be looking to trade up to a 3/4 or 1 ton truck now so we can then feel comfortable with whatever camper/TT/5er comes our way in the future. Thanks for all...

2014 5.7L Tundra - looking to tow Passport UL 3290BH

Thank you all for the input.  And I understand the high winds.  Even if I had a full 1 ton truck, I most likely would not go driving a camper that long in the wind. Luckily we are east coasters, and the only time we get winds like that are in storms (like Nor'Easters or quick summer...
