    New name, new rv

I'm not quite new, have been here off and on for a few years and lurked a lot.  I was Dino 678 but am now DoubleDee.  My wife and I are now both retired and with a new 2017 Axis 25.2 will be spending more time on the road and probably on the forum sharing good times and bad.  Hopefully many more...

    Thor Axis 25.2

We said we would never buy a new motor home. We said we wanted something bigger with a real bed. We wanted this,  we wanted that.  Suddenly, we were looking at 36 foot monsters with fireplaces and two baths. Whoa! Wait a minute! We're not full timers.  We might spend a month, two at most, out on...

    Can I pull a pop up with a v8 Volvo XC90?

Our first tow experience was a rented popup behind a Olds Cutlass.  DW was pregnant with our first.  As a result of that rental we bought a popup and several years later we were towing the popup with 4 bicycles on top of it behind a Astro van.  Years of fun.  We once hauled the popup behind the...

4 to 7 round lighting connector

We've pulled the trigger on a new 2016 Axis 25.2.  Excitement abounds in our home!  The old rv has a round 4 pin connector.  Is there an adapter I can use for the toad and connecting coil to the 7 pin connector on the new rv or do I have to rewire the toad and buy a new 7 pin coiled connector...

    p30 windshield wiper switch

It was under the hood enclosed in a housing with the motor, not at the stem.  Removed the housing cover, took out the card, popped in a new one, put some silicone sealer on the housing cover, done.

    1st post. Shopping for a Class A

Wow!  All kinds out there!  Our first MH was a 2004 Gulf Stream Conquest.  We bought it to see if we liked RVing.  It was 7 yrs old when we bought it and has served us wel other than replacing brake calipers twicel.  Letting it set for more than a month was a big mistake.  We've made numerous...

Acceptable quality control in new MH

We're looking at a Sprinter chassis built diesel MH.  There are several companies building them and I wonder if there is a consensus that one or two companies do a very good job of quality control.  The one we are considering is built by a company that I've heard lots of horror stories about and...

    No ladder...

I put my bikes on this rack mounted on the hitch of my toad.  http://www.thule.com/en-us/us/products/carriers-and-racks/bike-carriers/hitch-mounted-bike-carriers/thule-t2-classic-9044-_-1689772  When not towing I move the rack onto the MH hitch.  It's easy to use and I've found that motivates...

    Need a new toad!

Our toad is a 2004 CR-V.  It has been a most reliable vehicle and very easy to tow since installing the on/off switch  to disable the radio circuit.  No more pulling fuses.  We have another 2004 CR-V that our son drives, a 2010 Odyssey for road trips and our daughter has a 2011 Civic.  None of...
