Bike Carrying on back of TT

The biggest issue i found when i did research prior to installing a rack on the bumper of our fiver was the fact that as a general rule the bumper on most campers is just tack welded to the frame, when i checked mine it only had 4 very small welds, i took it to a welding shop and had the weld's...

    LT-rated tires on a 5th wheel

We also have been through the ST tire dilemma, Fiver came sitting on carlisle 225/75/15 load range D, 1st long distance trip had 3 fail with less than 1,000 miles on them, pressures all good prior to their early departure from service, not speeding, anyway, replaced them with the Maxxis 8008...

    Tire Temp's

OK, let me expand this alittle then see what i stir up LOL...  the reason for this research is not so i can babysit my tires with an IR temp gauge, there is a reason / history for my curiosity, bought a new canyon trail 5er June of 2008, after 13 trips close to home (less than 50 miles) we...

Changing Fifth Wheel Tires/Wheels from 15" to 16"

I had the same issue with our 2007 canyon trail, crappy carlisle tires, one exploded and 2 others had major tread seperation within the first 1,000 miles of use, i replaced them with Maxxis 8008 E rated tires, stayed with the 15" because i couldnt swing for wheels at the time and had to get...

Don't tow with black and gray tanks full

Not even taking into consideration the location of the tanks, i did the math on my rig, a total of 160 gallons of "waste" tanks, if all are full = 1328 lbs, 60 gallons of "fresh" capacity = 506 lbs, thats 1,834 pounds of weight to pull, that cant be a good thing.. not to mention they are plastic...

    Tire Temp's

Gulf Stream Canyon Trail 33ft bunkhouse fiver, came with D rated tires, since have replaced with E rated...  i do question the 120= not normal, all my pressures are dead on, as are my tow vehicle, the temps on my F350 where in the 120 - 130 range during the same trip, i have seen 110 temps...

    Tire Temp's

looking for some info on tire temps, i have seen everything from 110 - 160 degrees, even read that anything under 200 is good, just made a 600 mile trip from SC to FLA and checked temps at every stop, average was in the 140 range but when we hit south GA and the temps hit 98 they did go into the...

    Tire Opinions / Experiences??

Picked up my Maxxis tires yesterday, they look good, not as much "bulge" with the load range "E" on 80 psi, the tires that came off looked like crap, tread seperated bad on all 4, had giant bulges on the inside of the tires, its amazing we made it home on them, we'll see how it goes getting $$...

    Tire Opinions / Experiences??

the tire guy i use suggested tow master to me but he couldnt get the "E" rated tire for a couple weeks, so he said the Maxxis 8008 is just as good, says he never has any returns on either the tow master ofr maxxis, picked up my maxxis tires today, he also replaced the crappy rubber stems with...
