First Time Off the Leveling Jacks

Rene T, thank you.  That's a good idea for transition.  The blocks are "lynx levelers" that are in a pyramid, so I'm hoping the tires will roll down pretty smoothly.

Joezeppy, thanks!  Yes it's just the orange blocks so your info is very helpful :)

First Time Off the Leveling Jacks

Hi folks, I have been parked on friends' land for several months with my TT leveled (see photo).  My friend leveled it for me but will not be able to help me get ready to leave.  I'm taking off in a couple of weeks, have a WDH to be installed at local RV place, and will hit the road from...

Optimized towing conditions with 1998 Tahoe

Thank you Gary. I had read about the 10% rule of thumb but wasn't sure.

Optimized towing conditions with 1998 Tahoe

Another quick question: TT tongue weight is listed at 550# but I've got two 30# propane tanks on it and the battery adding on to that.  WDH offers 750# or 1000#, I'm leaning towards 1000 just in case, or is that counterproductive? Thankful for responses :)

Optimized towing conditions with 1998 Tahoe

I saw them on Amazon, too, Nomadb1.  Right now etrailer has free shipping on $99 or more, but I'm not quite ready to purchase.  I'm laying out most of my current budget on the Tahoe, which the pre-purchase mechanic just told me is in great shape!  A/T tires and high performance rotors, which...

Optimized towing conditions with 1998 Tahoe

Nomadb1 and grashley, thank you there seems to be a scale about an hour from me, but it will have to be after I purchase.  If it passes the pre-purchase inspection tomorrow it'll be mine by Thursday. robertusa1 and Gary, thanks right now I'm leaning toward the Reese dual cam.  They have the set...

Optimized towing conditions with 1998 Tahoe

Hi folks, I'm purchasing a 1998 Tahoe 4wd with, according to its RPO codes, the (Z82) tow package and (GT4) 3.73 axle ratio.  The factory installed hitch looks to be in good order, but the sticker is long gone.  I'll be pulling a 20-foot TT (4300 dry + 550 tongue) and it's just me in the...

Renogy solar panel system for RV's

Drewd, thanks for the nuclear info, will check into it.  Len and Jo, your system looks great!  Thank you for your input; I am yet to "unplug" from electric hookups at the property I'm living on.  Once I figure out my energy needs, I'll know whether solar is even in the cards for living in...

Renogy solar panel system for RV's

Thank you INTJohn, Kevin, Gizmo and others who've given me realistic options for full time dry camping in the Pacific Northwest :) I've got my homework cut out for me -- will keep you posted, and will surely be asking more questions as time goes on.

Renogy solar panel system for RV's

Forgot to say, although I'm not hooked up for battery monitoring yet, I found a source/guy online with some similar habits to my own. Given what he writes, I will assume for research sake that my average daily usage is roughly 800-900 watt-hours, give or take a bit: Here's a rough breakdown of...

Renogy solar panel system for RV's

Thank you Gizmo, I understand that part of it.  What I don't understand is why, despite both scenarios being equal (12v @200ah), one would deplete more rapidly than the other.  It seems the 6v scenario, connected in series, is preferable due to plate thickness.  :o Here's the quote I'm...
