    Generator problems

Sounds a bit like our generator. When you store your RV, do you put in gas stabilizer? Apparently generators are very sensitive to old gas and can become glazed inside very quickly from old gas. Also, the other folks here are 100% correct - I too would recommend a service call. Darned things...

    Credit Card Fraud Prevention

Here's another one for you... We were travelling in the USA and because we were Canadian, I was told by the clerk to leave my credit card with her while I pumped the gas, else, I couldn't. When we got home, about two weeks later, I got a call from the credit card company asking if I'd just...

How To Repair Decals On Outside

I was considering contacting Coachman and seeing if they still can sell the decals that originally came with the RV. Well, either I live with it or fork out. I think with the fact that I'll be spending probably $3k on upgrading the electrical for extended rving, I'll hold off on the decaling...

Roam Mobility - US cellular service for Canadians

Thanks for the info Gary. I'm looking to go into the USA for extended visits and this is starting to sound like a good solution overall for my internet/phone needs. Frank

Input on Potential First RV (Glass Repair)

Sorry Chris, But here's one time I have to agree with everyone else here. If this 5th wheel encountered issues in an incident that cause the frame outside to crack like it did - what's the overall damage? What's the old saying? "Patching the ceiling doesn't fix the leak in the roof." It would...

    Diesel vs. Gas, Sanity Check

Reflecting on my days as a truck driver, I got to drive a lot of different trucks and combinations. What I've found is two things - first diesel engines do last longer. If you are going to be putting a lot of miles on a MH, then diesel is the way to go. Also, I did find that the diesel driven...

    Howdy

Hey Chris, Trust me on this one. Once you go to a hard box, you'll love it soooooo much more. You don't care if it rains or whatever! Frank

    Howdy

Very exciting CJR! Welcome to the forum and good luck on your hunt. We hunted around for about 2 years before we found the RV that was supposed to be ours! We truly are blessed by it now. I would recommend anyone getting on board. It's a whole lot better then tenting, lol! Frank

    Leaking Windshield Remedy

I too experienced exactly the same problem as you. Nice leak above the driver's window. I tried several things but eventually I took it to a glass repair shop. I was ready for a sizeable bill but it turned out to cost me only $35! Turns out that the black goop (very technical term) had pulled...

    Draining Water Heater in storage

It really is super simple. I keep a roll of the plumbers white tape and the wrench to pull the plug. You never know when you will be back to your unit when it's in storage and I know it's expensive to replace if you find yourself in a below freezing night and you split the water heater tank...

How To Repair Decals On Outside

Good day all, My wife, Brenda, and I were looking at the outside of our Mirada and noticed that the decals for the strips and lettering were peeling away on the edges, which makes it looks ugly. Is there any easy way to fix the problem? I'm seriously thinking of removing the decals, but I'm...

    Extension cords for dummies....

The higher current electrical cords are definitely more expense, unless you check out Costco. I know in Canada, they were by far the cheapest (1/2 the price) from there. Also know that if you run a cord that is too thin, you can actually have it burn out or cause a fire if you are trying to...

    Renting out your Motorhome?

I do know from my own experience that insurance and loans on an RV can be sketchy. For example, when we purchased our Mirada, the lending bank actually had a clause in the loan contract that prohibited renting out the RV during the loan period. Frank

Roam Mobility - US cellular service for Canadians

To chime in, I did come across a posting on a blog here: http://www.gonewiththewynns.com/mobile-internet#more-6581 that talks about internet connectivity in the USA. They talk about these guys here: http://millenicom.com/ I have no experience with them, but they may be an option too? But they...
