Ok, we know what to do,,, where do you camp in Alamogordo ?

Might be too late, but the KOA, while dated, is in a good base location for many of the activities posted in your earlier thread.

    Dirty trick - be alert

After my second drenching upon removing the cap (much to the delight of my travel buddy grandson), i realized that the grey valve was not closing completely.  Black is a straight line shaft from the handle.  Grey is cable drive with a 180 degree bend to close the valve.  Thus the corn was only...

BLM or dispersed camping near Tucson, AZ?

Snyder Hill.  I saw that in a different app [Park Advisor]as well.  Looks like a good starting point for adventures on the Harley as well.  Thanks!

BLM or dispersed camping near Tucson, AZ?

i am leaving Globe in the morning.  Thinking about heading further south toward Tucson. After boondocking in several areas for nearly three weeks, I caved in and had solar installed in Quartzsite last Tuesday, and immediately drove to my reserved, full hook-up spot in Escapees North Ranch Park...

    New York Times on Quartzsite

I was in KOFA for a few days with Kevin and others (BTW, Thanks Kevin and others, had a GREAT time!).  Plan was to move up to Quartzsite and join Escapees Boomers group.  Rode Harley out to check them out.  Apparently, Boomers and RTR were in adjacent areas in the BLM area just east of town...

    Who's protecting San Diego??

Still staying off Pegleg Road near Borrego Springs.  Went on a lunch ride with 2 couples from Ontario and British Columbia.  We stopped for a quick break at Julian Pies in Santa Ysabel, and in come 16 San Diego PD Motor Officers in this tight formation on their Shiny BMW's.  Lotsa young riders...

    Escondido, Oceanside

I'm seeing a cool motorcycle ride in my near future.  Experincing Borrego Springs at the moment.  Looking at CA 76 and 78, I see some awesome looking twisties,  and just over 2 hours to the ocean!!  I'm drooling here! :P 8)

    Borrego Springs

If you dont have a definite route in mind, roll in to Joshua Tree NP from the south.  Pick up Box Canyon Road from Mecca.  After 8 or 10 miles of farmland and orchards, the climb starts and winds thru an amazingly scenic box canyon.  At the end, simply cross I -10 and enter the park at...

    Borrego Springs

Based on  your reccomendation in an earlier post, i did stay 3 nights in Jumbo Rocks.  Maybe 50% occupancy midweek.  Perfect central point  from which to launch explorations both in the park and Beyond.

    Borrego Springs

If I knew I was eating out so much, I wouldn't have had to stop for groceries!. I hate to pull in late, so I wound up stopping in Ocotillo Wells SVRA. Just found me a nice little plot of sand and going to call it a night. I would say I would try the Harley Softail out here in the sand but I've...

    Borrego Springs

Wow. Awesome recommendations. I'm still about 50 miles out having stopped in Brawley for fuel and rations. I came out of Joshua Tree National Park and went due south on Box Canyon Road. Incredible scenery! Continued down through down around Salton Lake and the I guess what's the Imperial Valley...

KOFA.  Check.  Quartzsite, including RV Show, check. Joshua Tree NP, check.  Next stop, Borrego Springs area.  Retirement is good!

    Joshua Tree NP. Status?

Does anyone know if Joshua Tree is open to traffic? Camping?  I'm about done with the Quartzsite scene, and thought that would be a reasonable next stop.

    KOFA Camping 1/9/18

I ran for 45 minutes through wet  snow on I-40 last evening. I thought I would make it into KOFA this evening, but didn't think pulling in after dark (especially for a first timer) would be wise.  I tied up at Escapees North Ranch in Congress AZ. will top off water and propane, grab last of...
