Hard to tell from the Pic's ....If the burner cap just lift off ...Then they may not be seated properly. You should have a notch that they set in. It's easy enough to check.

Put me down with the copper strip. I've used it on previous houses with good results. I'm having issues with roof mold right now but this roof is way to steep for me to get up there and install the copper strip.

In my case I had the ref. running right up to the moment I removed the inside cover. I could see the ice in the drain line. I cut the power to the compressor and cleaned out the ice and installed the copper wire.

Mr.Gary seems to disagree with my thoughts on the problem. So I found a You Tube link to the problem that I had. It's not the same one I watched years ago but it's the same problem and solution. It will explain better on how install the copper. Best of luck
