Onan Generator Oil Drain Plug Rounded Off

The last time I had that problem and finally got it out, I plug welded a 3/4" hex nut on a new plug.

    Ethanol Free Gas Stations

Honda engines are designed and certified to run on regular unleaded gasoline. Gasoline is allowed, by regulation, to contain a variety of additives. The same regulation limits how much of some additives, such as alcohol, can be included in the fuel and still allow it to be sold as gasoline. If...

    OH ^%$%*$% slides

A grade 5 or 8 bolt is not a shear pin, it's a shaft buster.

    Cracked trailer hitch

If someone tells you he's a "Certified Welder" run and don't look back. I pinged on a welding forum once for a week to get a straight answer. A certification would read like; "John Doe is certified by the Acre Newport News Shipyard to weld 1018 steel to 5/8" thickness horizontal and overhead...

    Cracked trailer hitch

I'd really like to see a photo of the hitch and crack.  A crack in a low-stressed weldment of mild steel is horrible.  Take it to a welding shop for a second opinion.  They should be able to tell if it was under-designed or defective material or welding.  If there is room for reinforcement...

Kia Borrego V6 (Mid SUV) and trailer size?

The amount of research you have done and are continuing to do says a lot.  I have a hunch if you ran into a strong headwind or a long stretch of downhill breaking you would be apt to proceed with caution.  A big plus.  The difference in HP required for 62mph vs 70 is significant. The difference...

    Airventure Oshkosh 2011

"2011 rates are $22 per night for general camping and $43 per night for sites with electrical and water hook-ups. At least one member of your party must be an EAA Member to camp in Camp Scholler." Not unusual for people to buy membership on site for only that reason.  Just a cost of camping...

USED RV. class A. on a gas engine ford or chevy for low cost maintainence

A friend ran an automotive machine shop and has always been a motor-home enthusiast.  He learned that it wasn't unusual for GM 454's to wear off one or more cam lobes if ran hard. He bought a Ford 460 with a noisy exhaust leak.  The cause?  Exhaust manifold shrunk so much endways that it sheared...

boondocking tank capacity questions for 30 days?

Couple of things came to mind. An outdoor shower with a small wood pallet to stand on. Camp where you can "water the flowers" with your gray water. Keep a wash pan on a table just outside the door.  You'd be surprised how handy it is and how much water it saves. Was near Moab and some kind of...

Buy the diesel or the gasoline??

I'm reading that either engine will get the job done.  I'd move on to the livability and features.  At 4 years old quality issues should start showing.

removing knob on light switch Discovery '97

They get really creative.  Look really, really close with a flashlight.  You might find something.  Try posting on a Ford or GM truck site.  Seems like I had a Chevy that something had to come off the back end of the shaft (behind the switch) then the shaft pulled out of the switch. Good luck.
