    Gas Stations for big rigs

We used to run a  Sport Chassis..  we use a Loves App. Clean, friendly and normally with a dog park. A bit more expensive ?  who cares.. in the long term, it doesn't add up to much,,,

What type of hitch - 5th or ball ?

Charles, I had wondered who made it since my dodge salesman didn't know..  mind you, he didn't know about the larger diesel tank either...  no matter. Curt has a great rep. Thanks Ian.

What type of hitch - 5th or ball ?

Thanks all for your input. You have given my several directions to research. I have a bit of time but will have to make a decision soon. Out of ciriosity.. what do you think of the 5th hitch that RAM is pushing as an add on ? Thanks Ian.

What type of hitch - 5th or ball ?

Folks, I am downsizing from a class 5 with probably the best 5th hitch available ( airbags / shocks for ride and for/aft) to a one ton. I was just going to go with the hitch offered by the truck company until several folks mentioned a ball hitch. I was under the impression that a ball hitch...

Want to know why an Allison Transmission is so good?

I will go with the other poster...  I really like my Eaton Fuller Ultrashift... Sport Chassis also installs Allisons.. I am no expert but since it is a autoshift vs automatic, it is probably tougher and less expensive to repair..

    First venture into Maine

Guess I will have to modify this. The DW likes Narrows too. Easy to get into / out of. Sardine style which is ok for us..so is the gravel roads. Do they have shuttles going all over ? Anything I should know ? "We like to walk and bike..not sure if we are bringing the co pilots yet, we like to...

    Going to Maine next summer..

Sorry for the delay in replying.. Ken, we are now looking in that area and the Boothbay region. Both re close and far. The crowds concern especially when trying to pull a trailer. We still have a bit of time before we have to book...btw, what is with many campgrounds not using plastic ? Ina

Gary, What would you recommend ? I see these 2 places: Smuggler's Den Campground Hadley's Point Campground. We walk, bicycle, not sure if we are taking the co pilots this year, like to eat out occasionally and don't need to be entertained. Oh, my rig is 52 foot long. Thanks

    Traveling/camping with a CPAP machine

I don't think battery draw is as much as an issue as thought. My CPAP has an accessory that allows you to run it off 12 v and battery.  We don't do a lot of boondocking anymore except for wally mart on one and 2 night runs so I didn't want to buy an inverter so i bought the accessory instead...

    Which to buy?

Why buy a new one ?  If it is 2 or 3 years old, the major depreciation is gone and if it has been kept well, than all the bugs have been worked out of it..let someone else bear the brunt of the expense....and if it doesn't work out,,then you have less invested. I have found that most of used...
