    Small Microwave

The right size can be a tough find, I recently replaced the microwave in my lance legend 500 truck camper.  Despite having measurements of the old unit, I could not find one that matched, despite researching dozens.  After the research failed, I started purchasing some that were close and that I...

    Microwave issue

On our last trip out, our microwave failed.  While connected to AC power, it would turn itself on for a minute, five seconds... cook, and then turn itself off.  This occurred over and over one night while we were sleeping and I had to keep the door opened to get it to stop.  The next morning I...

    The truck camper era

Agree with all except fuel economy.  It takes a fairly sturdy truck to haul most truck campers.  I have a F350 dually for mine and my mileage while loaded is abysmal.

Uncomfortable Sleeping with Air Conditioner in Lance 1575 TT

Our Lance truck camper has an AC unit that has vents going both toward the front and back of our camper.  When we sleep, I just close the vents toward the front so that all the cold air circulates toward the rear, and eventually toward the front of the camper.  With the bed in the front, this...

    Why buy a truck camper

On a recent camping trip to a popular state park in Virginia, we pulled to our campsite in our truck camper and backed right in.  Two minutes later, we were fully setup and ready for a weekend of hiking.  Our friends with the large fifth wheel had arrived a half an hour before us and were still...

    Kayaks on MH roof?

We take our kayaks and bikes with us everywhere we go. Our kayaks are fiberglass, about 17' 6" long.  See the attached photo of our rig.  I went with the option to drill into the roof and have had no problems with leaks, but I caulk religiously.  I wouldn't rule out this option, it works very...

    Generator not generating power

Not sure about your generator, by my Onan 2500 has an AC breaker on it that when tripped causes the AC current to stop flowing to the camper.

Adirondacks - seeking a waterfront camp site

My wife and I are avid kayakers and I'm planning a trip up through upstate New York and the Adirondacks.  We are looking for a good campground anywhere in the Adirondacks  that has waterfront campsites so that we can just take our kayaks off the camper and drop them in the water.  We have a...

    Onan LP Generator Problem

How full was your LP tank and how cold was it during the night?  My Onan 2500 owners manual states: "On cold days the LPG container may have to be kept at least half full to provide the rate of vaporization necessary to keep up with genset fuel demand".
