As that time we rented the truck, we let U-haul know our plans of towing a TT. Of course we'll ask for a safe truck to tow the TT, we don't like unpleasant surprises. I think we should call them to ask if they have crew cab trucks. I couldn't find any on their site, in our area.

Our TT has a slide, I guess is around 13ft. The bunk beds (long side) and the dinette/ table are in the slide and the TT becomes so roomy when the slide is out. The TT is 2007 and I thing the previous owners did nothing to the sliding parts, seals, etc. Some bugs do come in when the slide is out...

I'm contemplating this idea, too. Maybe not a TC because the truck wouldn't be fit to haul one, but a class B van and a tent. We got a 10 person tent and we slept four nights (2 rainy ones) and it was fun. It's so much more convenient w/ the TT, but it's not so funny to tow it, hook-unhook...

First of all it's important what truck you have or consider buying. FW are heavier than TT and you'll probably need 2500 ore 250 series minimum. They are taller and longer so it's important if you are confident hauling that much load on the roads. We just started pulling a 27ft. TT this winter...

Thanks for the link. PPL lists are really handy as a guide line, although I'm not sure if they have dealer or consignment prices... I wondered because older PlasureWay and Roadtrek have similar prices. I thought Roadtreks are more expensive.

Any opinion why the Roadtreks lose their value so much? I found one like this: http://www.nadaguides.com/RVs/1992/Roadtrek/Versatile-Dodge/3026976/Values for $7500 and thought the price is OK, but Nada begs to difference. Would a Pleasureway, Coachmen, Xplorer, etc. be a better choice?

We are camping in a tent and we have nothing to fix, but we don't have all the comfort of the TT. Yes, you are right, expecting the unexpected is a fact of life. We should search about AAA assistance. Maybe we should get something like that for a piece of mind.
