Does anyone clean their anode rod (hot water heater)

From the picture I would recommend replacement!  When you get the new one you'll see how much is missing on the one you have.  They're not that expensive, I replace mine on an annual basis and clean the crud out of the tank by flushing. Cheers Dale

GM needs your feedback on Dinghy Towing

We started full timing two years ago and towed a Dodge Durango 4x4 because that's what I used as a personal vehicle and it was the easiest to set up.  The wife wasn't keen on driving the truck in traffic so we changed to a 2006 Saturn Vue AWD.  I chose it for the simplicity of tow preparation...

    Buying a folding step ladder

Hi Ceemike, we have the 7' model you've shown from J C Whitley.  It's been good for us, easy to store, stable when set up and I can use either side.  I've been using it for 2 years still no stress crack and I'm a plus size guy! I would recommend the 7' model, I'm 6'and need all of that when I'm...

Norcold 1200LRIM Refridgerator not getting cold enough

Bigpemby, I'm pretty sure yours should be the same as mine and odieyodie, second fin from the right and 1/2-2/3 up the fin. Cheers Dale

Norcold 1200LRIM Refridgerator not getting cold enough

Jim's right on the position of the thermistor, further from the core of the fins will lower the temps if it unit is working.  That reminded me of another test, unplug the thermistor and let the fridge run essentially uncontrolled but check every few hours to avoid freezing, if it cools you...

Norcold 1200LRIM Refridgerator not getting cold enough

Tommy, you probably don't want to hear the answer but we went through the same thing and ended up replacing the cooling unit.  Fortunately we were still under warranty so it was an inconvenience but not costly.  No mention in your signature as to what you have for an RV (year) so depending on...

:)  Looks good Jeff, I'm sure you'll both enjoy the extra space.  We're heading for Casa Grande for the winter so hope to get together sometime then. Cheers Dale & Karen

    Air Force One

Hi Ronphil, we've been using the AF 1 for over a year now with absolutely no problems at all.  Works exactly as it's supposed to, easy to hook up and transparent with the car normal braking system. I had the M & G system previously and while it worked well I couldn't transfer it to the next...

    Factory Installed Sewer Flush

Check valve?, basically yes.  It's a siphon break to ensure there is no back flow from the black water tank.  When you disconnect the flush hose at the external fitting the water between the siphon break and the fitting will drain out but not downstream from the valve to the tank. Cheers Dale

How many of you have a dash cover?

We had one made shortly after getting the coach, no pets but I was concerned about the sun baking and cracking the vinyl.  I found it easy to keep clean, just run the vacuum over it when I'm cleaning the front floor carpet. Cheers Dale :)

fuse/battery adjustments needed to flat tow a 09 saturn vue?

The manufacturers procedures will be listed in the owners manual under recreational towing.  On our 2006 Saturn Vue that requires pulling the 30 amp ignition fuse and running the transmission for 3 minutes in neutral, ensuring that the last shift is from drive to neutral. We, as many have done...

    mail forwarding in Canada

Hi PDQ,  we suppressed as much paper mail as possible and switched to e-billing for the accounts that were left, credit cards, insurance and utilities for the coach, satellite, internet access and cell phones.  Payments are made on line after receiving email notice of the invoices.  Records are...
