All I can say is make sure everything is tied down and your shocks are in good shape!

    What SUV can tow 10,000lbs?

Either of those vehicles will work, but if you can look for a 2000-2003 DIESEL Excursion with the 7.3 Powerstroke.  You'll pull much better with the diesel and get better economy while doing so.  Stay way from the 2004-2006 Excursions with the 6.0 powerstroke, they have a very bad reputation for...

Route from Maryland Eastern Shore to New Hampshire

Thanks Ed, we are located in Queen Anne and usually take 301 over the Delaware mem bridge to the Jersey Tpk, NY etc.  If I can avoid that I would be happy.  Is Black Bear campground the one your referring to?

Route from Maryland Eastern Shore to New Hampshire

Hi All,  Looking for a good route from the eastern shore of MD to southern NH.  Usually driving I take the jersey TPK through NY and such, but there is no way I am doing that with a 40' fifth wheel.  That and there are too many low bridges that I might get caught under lol.  Does anyone have any...

I have a gooseneck ball and want to tow a 5th wheel.

You're not going to want to put a gooseneck adapter on the kingpin.  The frame is not designed for the extra leverage that the adapter creates and you stand a good change of either bending the kingpin or cracking the frame of the trailer.

    Edumucate me on diesel trucks

Well it seems that the diesel is the way to go for you.  Towing in the hills is gonna kill that gas motor over time.  If you plan on wrenching on your own vehicle in the future, neither Ford nor Chevy/GMC can touch the Ram/Cummins combo for ease of wrenching.  I am on my third one and it really...

Tires on my 5th wheel, concerns...

Thanks for the replies everyone.  That lowers my concerns a bit.  I'll just keep on watching them as I do and go from there.  It seems almost all trailers are coming with them now a days anyway, so as I have no doubt people are having problems with them, it seems that the majority are not. ...

Tow vehicle for 10000 lb trailer

Any of 3/4 tons and up will handle it no problem.  As for gas vs diesel, your gonna like the low end torque of the diesel for that git-up-and-go.  Plus the fuel mileage is usually better and they are great when pulling those mountain passes.

Anyone towing with Ford explorer ecoboost

Was it in tow/haul mode?  If so, then most tranny's will tend to hold RPM longer in tow haul so it sounds pretty normal.  If not, then you are working that engine pretty good anyway so it is going to hold RPM longer until it feels it should shift.

Tow a TT with an F150

In reality you can tow it, and I'm sure you can make it come in under the max numbers on your truck as I doubt your gonna load it with 3000#'s worth of stuff.  However, you are gonna be pushing it with your truck.  Fuel mileage is gonna be terrible and you would want to think about upgrading...

Tires on my 5th wheel, concerns...

I've been doing some reading about the "chinese" tires that are coming with trailers and am a bit concerned.  My trailer is  2012 (built oct 2011) and is running Mastertrack 225/75r15 tires.  They have roughly 3000 miles on them and appear to be in good shape.  I inspect them before each trip...

    Hot shotters towing overweight?

Ok, so I get that the manufacturers ratings are not "legal" ratings (at least not that I can find) and that they are just stated capacities.  I get that hotshotters "tag" or license their vehicles for more weight than they are rated for from the factory, but if they were ever in an accident that...

Look at selling/trading in my 5th wheel, looking for advice.

Good catch on that one!  We bought it in 2011, it is a 2012 model.  We used it a lot when i was stationed in South texas, but now we are finding we are not be able to use it as much (at least not enough to justify the payment)  We aren't in a postion where we need to sell, just looking at some...

Look at selling/trading in my 5th wheel, looking for advice.

Thanks everyone for the helpful replies!  That is why I enjoy this site!  I am going to inquire at a few dealers and see where I stand.

Look at selling/trading in my 5th wheel, looking for advice.

Thanks for the replies.  We are looking at downsizing, trading it in on another cheaper trailer.  I will put cash down to make up the difference, I am just curious how much the difference is  ;D  I heard that they lose about 20%.  Is that what I can expect them to offer or is it even less than...
