I also have a 460 1997 with 40k miles. Summer, I use either 20w50 or 10w40. . So far no oil usage between changes. Winter trips I use the thinner 10w30, still no usage. I go 3 to 4k between changes. I always check with cold engine. Also tow a Buick Rendevous on tow dolly w/brakes. Don't believe...

    Engines to avoid?

F.Y.I the GM 8.1 has a vent hose kit available from Workhorse to ram force air into the engine area to aid in cooling. It can probably be adapted to any MH. Hank W

Tow Dolly problem turning corners it bucks and does not swivel smoothly

I also have a Master Tow Dolly w/electric brakes. I keep the pads lube. With the dolly hitched. I can push the top plate with my foot from either side to move it. When it gets grimey with dirt it will be hard to push. I just clean the pads, and lubricate. Has a worked for me for six years.

Do you tow a car on a tow dolly ?

I have a Master Tow Dolly with electric Brakes. I tow my 03 Buick Rendezvous front wheel d. rive SUV. It tows well behind my 33 ft National Sea View Ford F53 460Cid. Takes a  little longer to hook up than 4 down, but not a big headache. I have never had a problem storing it behind and tongue...

Here are some sites that carry electric brake parts- I also know an Rv'r that had brakes added to his dolly by a local RV dealer- I have a Master Tow dolly that has electric brakes and I would never tow without them. I tow a Buick Rendevous front wheel drive...

    RV roof coating Formflex 6000

To: jackm Sorry to hear about your experience with the Formflex 6000 roof coating. What happened to you is my major fear of a lot of work, expense and then a failure as you describe. Did you contact the manufacturer to let them know what happened? I would be interested to see what they had to...

    RV roof coating Formflex 6000

Thanks joester for your feedback, just what I was looking for. I checked the Best Materials website and under the product description it said not for RV roofs because of foot traffic., then referenced Formflex 7000 which appears to be a very different product. I have done some research and the...

    Ford F53 Rear Swaybar Bushings

PanckeBill, As far as jacks- I used my rear coach jacks with a set of jackstands, that unloaded the axle. There are two bolts per bracket about 6 inches long. Fortunately mine were not rusted very bad. I sprayed the threads with PB Blaster (a HD type penetrating oil) as soon as I had the MH...

    Ford F53 Rear Swaybar Bushings

Lou, this reply may show up twice. Sorry if it does. Since you do have the tag axale, that is maybe why you don't have a rear swaybar. Here is a pic of one, but it is not of mine

    Ford F53 Rear Swaybar Bushings

Bill, he does have more sets in stock ( Ford-F53-Class-A-rear-POLY-sway-bar-bushings 1990-1997 ) Goto EbayMotors do a search on that site with the description and you will find his listing. He states that he will soon have rear poly bushings for the later V10 F53 Chassis MHs. The 97 F53 are $40...

    Ford F53 Rear Swaybar Bushings

Gary I suspect you are correct in that some coach manufacturers may have added these or had Ford add them to the chassis when it was built. My chassis is the heavier GVWR and is also wide body 102 inch width.

    Ford F53 Rear Swaybar Bushings

Jerry, I checked with all the local parts suppliers and none had a polyurethane replacement bushing that size ( 1/1/2 inch) Ford does have them and Roadmaster makes them as well for the OEM sway bar, but their costs are almost twice what I paid. Now the sway bar link bushings are much smaller...

    Ford F53 Rear Swaybar Bushings

Lou, I am sure these are factory swaybars front and rear. I am the second owner of the coach and I don't believe the original owner had these installed. I have read on some other forums, owners had the same size swaybars that were factory installed around the same vintage year. Some others also...
