    Mirada Select Steering

POPULAR MECHANICS MAY 1973: START QUOTE: If too little caster exists, the car will wander and weave, thus necessitating constant corrections in steering. END QUOTE: Your F53 is probably about +3.5 degrees of caster. The new F53s ship with 7.0 degrees of caster. See attached. Source link to pdf...

    Loose steering

To little positive caster can create a steering dead "do nothing" zone between left and right at highway speeds. You want to have more then +5 degrees for highway driving.

E350/E450 Handling Problems are caused by too little + CASTER

The only advantage I can see is the two axis is universal and probably easier to source.

E350/E450 Handling Problems are caused by too little + CASTER

"None of the photos I posted reflect the toe condition before I went to the shop." oops, my bad. I thought the photo was a before alignment. Disregard my thrust line problem references.

E350/E450 Handling Problems are caused by too little + CASTER

The Thrust Line is part of a four wheel alignment and not derived from just a front end alignment. It would be very unusual to have the E450 solid axel skewed but there have been RV past posters that claimed to have had the experience. I am troubled with your excessive tire wear and grasping at...

E350/E450 Handling Problems are caused by too little + CASTER

SoloRover: The tire wear shown is very excessive and there is no indication of a cause for that wear in the front end before alignment numbers. So, it may be the problem is with the rear axel being out of alignment. If the rear axel alignment is dog tracking it should be apparent in the rear...

    Steering stabilizer

Positive caster is natures steering stabilizer at highway speeds. Too little +caster will create a steering dead "do nothing" zone between left and right at highway speeds.

Two newbie questions - what height step ladder and where is the blank tank vent?

The open passenger window would create a vacuum in the motor home. Some bathroom vanity sinks are plumbed into the black tank. The vanity sink drain could be the source of the odour. Try using a rubber stopper in the vanity sink while enroute.

    Motorhome Strange Suspension Issue

If your front tire pressures are more then they need be for weight it could reduce the runtime caster trail therefor increased wandering at highway speeds.

    suspension/handling help

On the topic of "wandering" at highway speeds: Ford ships all E350/E450 cut-aways with identical fixed, non adjustable caster/camber collars, "one size fits all". You can recognize these collars because they are keyed and cannot be rotated. They are marked "F8UA-AA 0+.25" on the passenger side...

240 watts / 12 VDC = 20 DC Amps x 2.5 Hours = 50 AH    Ans: The trailer battery would need to be charged enroute

Bathroom sink backs up when toilet flushes

Yes, your bathroom vanity drains into the black water pipe some where between the toilet and the black tank. AND Your poop pyramid is high enough to block off the black water pipe where it enters the black tank.
