To little positive caster can create a steering dead "do nothing" zone between left and right at highway speeds. You want to have more then +5 degrees for highway driving.

The only advantage I can see is the two axis is universal and probably easier to source.

Positive caster is natures steering stabilizer at highway speeds. Too little +caster will create a steering dead "do nothing" zone between left and right at highway speeds.

The open passenger window would create a vacuum in the motor home. Some bathroom vanity sinks are plumbed into the black tank. The vanity sink drain could be the source of the odour. Try using a rubber stopper in the vanity sink while enroute.

If your front tire pressures are more then they need be for weight it could reduce the runtime caster trail therefor increased wandering at highway speeds.

On the topic of "wandering" at highway speeds: Ford ships all E350/E450 cut-aways with identical fixed, non adjustable caster/camber collars, "one size fits all". You can recognize these collars because they are keyed and cannot be rotated. They are marked "F8UA-AA 0+.25" on the passenger side...
