    New TT needs/ wants

If you do have to fill your tanks (water not at the site) this is a very valuable asset. Pretty cheap too. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31T1-JfNrUL._SY300_.jpg

    A/C and Shore Power

Yes you can, but watch your cords. Use a cord over rated for 20 amps, or even 30. Make sure your adapter can handle the load, not just make the connections. I have two 25 foot lengths of cord , plus the 25 on my camper, so 75 foot of cord connected to a 30 amp plug (on a 30 amp breaker). My...

    Buying first TT, advice please

I'll 2nd the 'your first won't be the last' sentiment. But, we've bought two in the last two years. With the right financing, it can be the easiest way to go. (Loans tend to get a little riskier on older campers, we financed new at 3%). We have a gulfstream 259BH (just under 30 foot long) 2...

    breaker issues

I'm assuming you're using electric on that hot water heater?  Possible, hot water heater element running at full heat and AC compressor kicks on... will likely trip it. Mainly because of the large start up current of AC units. But if it's a gas water heater only, I'd say you have issues. Also...

Finding the slideout override/reset panel in a 2015 Starcraft Launch 24 RLS

Understood, 2 large northern breed pups, and we bought ours just for that extra floor (read: dog bed) space.

Finding the slideout override/reset panel in a 2015 Starcraft Launch 24 RLS

I don't know where yours is, but on my gulfstream its under the front bed, against the sidewall of the bed in the underbed storage. Hope they find it and things improve!  How usable is the camper with the slide in?  Not something you think of usually, but when we brought our newest one home we...

    Towing long travel trailers

wow...our floor plan is two bunks in the back, queen in front but no separating wall (my preference). Ours is 29 foot tip to tail, with a double slide on the side opposite the door. I tow with a 1500 suburban, 8k tow capacity and have zero issues. In fact, it tows better than my last one which...

We survived our first trip! but we have questions.

Sounds like a fun first trip. Word to the wise, my wife is vertically challenged. Take care when leveling to making sure the step side of the camper isn't needed to be raised too much. First 2 times we camped this happened, wife was not pleased with that huge step at the end...

Looking for info on a mattress

I'm sorry I can't be specific. But I've always found the 'stock' mattresses to leave a bit to be desired. So I'd guess normal to below normal thickness.  But, deep pocket sheets can tuck in, where if you buy normal and by luck get a great mattress...well. Enjoy the new rig!

    First post and my rant

It's been said by a few. When I find the minor stuff, I make it BETTER. Screws missing their backing, a piece of trim put on in the wrong order so it didn't snap in to place. Weather stripping held with a micro dot of sealant. Etc. Now, the bigger stuff I take back to the dealer. One, it's under...

    A/C icing up

If your outside temps dip too low, this can happen too. Specially if it's running full tilt day/night. I go for the dirty filter/coils (Likely coils). Next, don't run it if it's in the low 60's at night, or if you do crank it down a little so it has a chance to cycle.

    East vs West Pricing advice?

This right here. I'm in Michigan, and the volume of traffic of RV's (and travel trailers) coming up the freeway corridors is staggering. And most I see are Canada bound!  I know our dealer even has all the customs and such worked out in advance for Canadian purchasers, it's such a big thing...

    Gas mileage

I don't worry about gas mileage as a number, when it's empty I need to be able to fill up. But, I do pay attention to power and best cruising speed (on flat ground) and at what RPM. We had a 22 foot camper, sloped wedge style front end, about 4500 loaded or so.  With my 2000 Suburban 64 was...

    Electricty

I think someone else hit on it, other than the AC (and it might be due to thermostat voltage required) the things that aren't working well require 12 volts . For spark for the water heater, computer in the fridge, etc.  The outlets working means your shore power hookup seems okay. My guess would...

    Trailer brake woes

How long was the switch activated. My manual states something about it warping the magnets/shoes if left activated for too long. (Along with normally killing a battery, but if you'd connected to shore it may have been worse.)
