I bought a new Cougar 5W six years ago and I've been happy with it. Never had it back to the dealership. Of course my previous 5W was a Komfort and I never had it back to a dealer either. Maybe I'm just lucky or maybe I take care of stuff before it needs to be fixed by a dealer.

I live in the Englewood/Littleton area and I'd suggest you look into staying at Chatfield State Park rather than Flying Saucer. Chatfield is a nice park on a lake and will take reservations. The location is very close to E-470 which will facilitate travel. For the Rockies game its a short jump...
I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. We are at Pioneer Beach RV Resort on Mustang Island off of Corpus Christi. We like it well enough to be spending our 10th winter here and the Trailer Life book gives it very good ratings. The campground has a boardwalk to the beach and the...
In my opinion Oxygenetics is fantastic. I don't really understand how it works. I suspect the physics are beyond me, but I do know that I look forward to my hot shower every night.
We always have the Trailer Life Campground book handy. We've found it a lot easier to use if we just cut out the areas of the country we'll be visiting and put those states on our clipboard. The big book is just too much to handle sometimes.
As opposed to what others are saying, we find the...
In the discussion regarding moving the hitch ahead of the axle no one has addressed the issue of trailing geometry. When the hitch is placed "correctly" over the axle we all know that a 5th wheel doesn't trail through a corner like a travel trailer does. That's why we have to swing wide on...
I know nothing about the book, but I can tell you how we saved an even $2000 on a new fifth wheel.
We got a quote in the metropolitan area in which we live. We went to a dealer in a metropolitan area an hour away and got a quote. We called down south to the city near where we spend the...
>>the only winter prep on the RV was draining all lines and tanks by gravity, any opinion if I should expect problems<<
I think I'd be concerned about my fresh water lines. Gravity draining often fails to get the water out of low spots and the trapped water freezes, expands, and cracks the...
Since you mentioned birding, I suspect you are well aware of the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge and the whooping cranes that winter there. If not, check out this site: www.fws.gov/southwest/REFUGES/texas/aransas/
You won't want to miss it and it's on your route.

Just for the record, we bought a new Keystone Cougar 5th wheel in 2004. We haul it to a warmer climate each winter spend three and a half months in it. I have never had any reason to take it back to the dealer.
Before you make your final hitch decision I'd suggest you take a look at the Reese Sidewinder kingpin. The December Trailer Life Magazine has an article that you might find interesting.
I've had my Sidewinder for two years now and I love it. I had a Reese slider hitch in the past. The...
For old timers only.
...and we used to wire in filiament voltage and replace the OZ4 with a 6X5? If I'm remembering that correctly I have to wonder why the hard drive in my head has room to store such worthless old information and still claims it doesn't the capacity to tell me what it is that...
You might take a look at the Fechin Inn. It's a very nice place.... actually my wife says it's a lovely place... and in a great location in the middle of town. They serve a good breakfast and for the rest of your meals you can explore Taos! We've stayed there a number of times and have always...
