I'm not sure I understand your concern. Is you 5er winterized? Are there water lines in the slides that may be more exposed? I wouldn't think it would make any difference if you've winterized it.
Thanks. My experience has been that the weight and momentum of the MH overcomes the engine compression and I just keep speeding up. Normally, it's not that much of a problem, but I have been in areas out west where it gets a little tense! Thanks for your reply.
When we took our trip to the PNW in 2010, we took US20 all the way out to the coast from Iowa, but it actually goes through Oregon, not Washington state. Or you sure you have the correct route numbers listed?

You might take a look at the awning lock referenced above. I fabricated one of these for about $15 based on the information provided and it works quite well. Sorry for your damage.
