Well, Thank you for all the information. I wish I had them few a week earlier since I have already purchased SAW6DE model :( I emailed the suburban before the purchase and they told me this is the direct fit!! We'll see what I can do about it. It is interesting that I was searching online and...

Hello: I am replacing my Atwood water heater with a direct replacement one form Suburban and I need some help with wiring connections for the gas/electric connection section. My Atwood water heater had 4 wiring connecting to the coach but the new Suburban has 3 wires. It seems the new Suburban...

    Right size (dimension) water heater

I just decided to with a new unit. I am also very concern about the crack being close to water supply. In addition, at least in my mind, since I have been maintaining the water heater as best as I could and still cracked like that, and since I don't know what caused the crack, I feel more...

    Right size (dimension) water heater

That size of crack? What would be the life expectancy?

Aluminum VS Steel tank Water Heater

Well, as you may have seen in my other post, my aluminum tank water heater developed a major crack after 6 years. Considering that exact water heater to fit the existing opening dimension has been discontinued from Atwood, I can get a Suburban steel tank with the exact dimension. Since my water...

    Right size (dimension) water heater

I really don't understand it. The RV is a 2016 model. The tank is aluminum. I have drained the tank every time after each trip and it was winterized every winter before the freezing temp started. I guess, it is just a poor quality material and manufacturing.

    Right size (dimension) water heater

Okay, troubleshooting is complete! I guess there is no "saving" option here!

    Right size (dimension) water heater

Thank you for all the help. You are all correct that investigating and repairing is the best, easiest and cheapest way to go. I guess, this is part of my investigation to be ready for what may come. I am going to pull the old water heater out this weekend, hopefully. As much as I can see from...

    Right size (dimension) water heater

Well this appears a lot more difficult than what I thought! The one that you have suggested says 16X16X14 on amazon but when I look at the unit on Dometic website, it says it is 12.6X12.6X20?! I have measured my water heater and its dimension (inside the door) is 17.5X14. I am very confused!

    Right size (dimension) water heater

Hello: I have a 6 gallon Atwood water heater (GC6AA-10E) which is leaking from the underside of the tank, under what I think is an electrical box and/or where the heating element is located. After the de-winterizing it and trying fill it with water, water was pouring out from that area. I...

8" trailer wheel and long trips

Thanks guys. I guess I would just swap the axle and put on some 13" or 14" wheels and tire. Trips like this are supposed to be for fun, not trouble.

8" trailer wheel and long trips

Hi there: I was wondering if you could share your opinion (and experiences) about towing a boat trailer with 8" wheels/tires for long travels. I just bought a small boat (12') trailer which came with 8" wheels/tires and we plan to go down to CA from WA in spring. I was wondering if the 8" is...

    Valve stem

Thanks for comments, even unfriendly ones! The recommended tire pressure for my front tires are 75 PSI and 80 PSI for the rear ones. I have researched but since there was some confusing information online, I thought I ask members' opinion on this forum. There are high pressure rubber valve stem...

    Valve stem

Thanks for the replies. It is such a small item but there so many options! Does anyone know about the Ford E series wheels (16") valve stem hole size? It is a 2016 model. Does anybody has any specific brand? I see Amazon has pack of the for $13 and then I see some over $100!

    Valve stem

Hi: Everywhere I look, everybody talks about having a metal valve stem in motorhome tires since the rubber ones leak. Does anybody know why they leak or having a metal valve stem is something like juts be too careful? We know the RV tire pressure is over 75-80 PSI but there are high pressure...
