Did the Chevy have a 409? First time I went over 100 mph was with a supped up 409. What a ride. Two lane road with the telephone poles flipping past really quick. Speedometer said 140 mph.
For breaking loose the lug nuts when changing a tire, I carry a long breaker bar with the correct 1/2 inch socket. Other tools, minimum, are pliers, channel lock pliers, socket set, screw drivers, side cutters, and, yes, duct tape.
Assuming you have a travel trailer, you need to have a minimum of 10% of the trailer's weight on the hitch. You don't want the weight of the generator to change that.
Welcome to the Forum. I agree with TheBar that wintering in an RV is challenging. However, there are things you can do to your motorhome to make it more livable in the winter. YouTube has a lot of videos on what you need to do.
I have a 2wd F250 with positive-traction. I carry traction boards for wet grass or mud. Had to use them a couple of times. Once I get moving, I keep going...
Welcome to the Forum. As you found out, living in an RV usually requires some serious downsizing. I've had to haul water for mine during the winter when the city water is shut down. Feel free to ask questions. Lots of friendly knowledgeable members on this Forum.
If you have 2 air conditioners, your Tiffin most likely has a 50 amp electrical system. To run both air conditioners, you need a 240 volt outlet that breaks into two 120 volt leads into to the RV inlet. Thus, plugging your RV into a house/garage 120 volt outlet will only run one air conditioner...
Wow. That's a lot of issues you are finding. You might consider whether or not it's worth continuing with your project. After spending a lot of money and time, you'll still have a 40 year old RV. And likely, will have spent more than you would for a newer, running RV with fewer problems...
