Quartzsite 2023 Rally - anyone want to organise?

Sounds like it was Fun! As life happens, we didn't make it this year once again! One thing that might get me moving next year is the "eclipse" coming our way in April 2024......not sure where we will go to try to see it but we had planned to make Idaho in 2017, had a doggie illness and watched...

Quartzsite 2023 Rally - anyone want to organise?

Great offer on the Solar Parts....after procrastinating for 10+ years, I finally bought some Panels from Bouge during the Black Friday event. (10) 180 watt panels.....too bad my body doesn't have the energy from 10 years ago😃😃. Still have a few things to gather before getting started. With that...

I know I've been saying this the first Rally I attended with the gang....but I certainly want to join in again this year. I'll keep my fingers crossed that we make it happen!😊😊

Catalina State Park Oro Valley AZ...Memories

I was just telling my wife that maybe we should try to return to Catalina this coming New Years! I'm going to kick it around some and see how it fits in. I still say to this day, the showers (restrooms) were the cleanest I've ever seen anywhere(public or private)!

Catalina State Park Oro Valley AZ...Memories

We attended this New Year's Gala once and had so much Fun. I was just thinking about it a couple weeks ago...Catalina is a wonderful State Park. I figured some Forum members still spent New Years their without any " official" designation...Rally! I think we would enjoy going again to that park...

We, Burnetta and Dwight, are leaning very heavily on being at the Quartzsite gathering this coming Jan. Not sure on timing yet but I think we'll make it before the start of the Big tent event. 😊😊

    5th wheel hitch advice needed

I know where he is going to end up....compounding his choice of truck by buying a lesser (quality) fifth wheel due to weight. Everything he likes is over his weight! The ones available, the ultra lites in his floor plans are lesser quality. I'm telling him, get a Better quality bumper pull. He...

    5th wheel hitch advice needed

We did a little looking today at a couple dealers.....Boy, him and his wife see the light now.  Most everything they liked would put them way over their Payload. And Yes....I have suggested more than once, get whatever size bumper pull you want, you have the truck for that but not a well built...

    5th wheel hitch advice needed

Like I was saying....I can't believe he didn't at least call me one last time before going out to buy this truck. We've been RV'ing together for 25 years and I can't tell you how many times we talked trucks and what it takes to haul even some of the smaller 5'ers with a little cushion.  Oh well...

    5th wheel hitch advice needed

I did have him look at the door Jam placard...give or take 2700 lbs! I've read fifth wheel hitches can weight up to 500 lbs...but lets say 300 plus 1/2 extra persons, plus that washer and dryer up front and whatever else adds to pin weight in the 5'er?? My guess would be to stay below 2000 lb...

    5th wheel hitch advice needed

I wish I could have convinced a buddy of mine who just retired to read a tad more before buying.  I've told him for years that you should have more truck than you need and knowing he was looking at getting a 35' fifth wheel of some quality(weight) I said get a 1 ton dually or at least a 1 ton...
