I burn most of our used oil in our old diesel pickup.  Been running on 40:1 for about 10 years now......

What is the Discount off MSRP on New 2008?

We paid $70k for our 2008 Damon 3575 (used) and its MSRP was 134k.  Your 'new' one should not be more than $75 or 80k.  The factory warranty on a coach that has been sitting that long just is not worth that much.  you WILL have bugs to work out on a coach that has been sitting for 2 plus years.

    Interior Lights and propane question

On the light that pops a fuse, look in the lamp socket.  Many of the Bounders used bayonet bulps with two contacts on the bottom rather than the more normal single.  Inserting a regular single contact bayonet bulb in the fixture will pop the fuse.

Gas vs diesel, with a twist

Comparing a 2002 F-53 to a 2008 DP is not really a fair comparison.  The F-53 has and continues to develop into a much better chassis.  I almost bought a 2010 Adventure 35J and was comparing the Ford 24k chassis and the FRED.  $24k between the two.  The Ford was quieter and drove far more...

    upgrades to 2007 Class A (Ford F-53)

My 2007 Ford F52 22k chassis has a factory installed front pan hard bar.  Don't know what year Ford started with this or on which chassis but you might want to look before looking for upgrades.  Bilstien shocks are OEM on mine as well. I do need to do something about sway.  I can rock the coach...

Blew up my TV and Convection oven/microwave

I know what your think you have seen.  I can tell you without a doubt that if a 30A 125V receptical was installed with 240VAC across the pins, it was in grave violation of the NEC and the cord on the dryer plugged into it was NOT factory installed. I am very familure with the NEC and these...

Blew up my TV and Convection oven/microwave

NO the 30 amp 120V plug is NOT identical to ANY 240V receptical.  The blades for 30a 120 and 30a 240 have different orientiation and cannot be plugged into the wrong receptical. Besides, the OP said it was his plug he reconnected.  Usually reversing neutral and line in a 120v plug does not...

    Power Consumption

I think if you are using $200 worth of 0.07/kwh electricity, someone else is using the power.  Even in the heat of summer with the ac running full time, should not consume 2800 kwh in a motorhome.  That would be a continuous 33A load 24hrs a day for the month.  No way you are using that much.

    Hopkins Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Camping World is now selling the Hopkins 6 sensor system for $244 with special and coupon.  I finally quit looking and plunked down the plastic to order one.  Pretty cheap price for this system, have not seen it this low before.

Was quoted $1,320 for a detail on my motorhome!

My local Mr. Car Wash will wash and wax my 38 footer (and most others) for $300.  Takes 6 guys about 2 hours.  Includes the roof, the tires and wheels too.  They will use thier own wax or mine but no discount for bringing your own wax.  I usually bring 2 bottles of NuFinish.  They use up one and...

wife can't get enough hot water

We did the precision temp demand water heater on our last coach.  It requires a larger hole in the side of the motorhome than a 6gal atwood.  That and the $1000 cost are what made us decide not to go there again.  In the 5 years we had it, it always worked great. This time around we modded the...

where do you buy new hoses for motorhome?

You can look up most hoses for your 92 P-30 chassis by selecting a 92 Chevy Step Van at the auto parts sites.  The StepVan was built on the P-30 Chassis.
