Some people can't read English !

Thanks for posting an excellent example of what I said. Clearly there is nothing of "use" on that video until the drone is very close.  I said 5', maybe it's 20' - the point remains - if someone is invading your privacy with a drone, they have to be very close to you and NOT 300' or even 100' in...

Some people can't read English !

We were talking about breaking the rules/law - you cannot explain it away. That is exactly the point of this thread - ignoring the rules because you think you can, you are above the law, the law applies to others, or you just don't care. Nobody likes when the guy breaks the law doing X, why...

Some people can't read English !

Excellent points!  I too am amazed at the number of people willing to break the law when it is convenient to them but are critical of the next person.  Think about that the next time you are going just a 'little' over the maximum legal speed limit. No doubt that the media and a few bad apples...

    I met someone

Congratulations Amanda! I've had to read your post numerous times.  I just can't quite get my head around what you are saying as I've never heard a woman talk this way.  :o What you've said sounds more like 'guy talk' - I've heard it numerous times from guys.  So, I'm stunned - in a positive...

    Building a new System

Yes, exactly.  Watt's law is volts * amps = watts.  (600 x 12 = 7200 watts just as 300 x 24 = 7200 watts) Many of the items on my coach 24VDC (water pump, lights, inverter, etc..). However; some are simply available only in 12VDC (hose reels, ceiling fan, dump valve, some lights, etc.) so a...

Question on Residential Fridges and Frequent Travelers

EXACTLY!!! I have a 23 cu. ft. Samsung 4-Door and love it. Two years and about 20k miles.  I am a 'usually boondocking' full-timer.  I run the refrigerator (and entire coach) from solar, battery, and PSW inverter.  Works wonderfully.

First timer wanting to be a full timer

Howdy Mike, Storage space is a big deal when full-timing. Depending on a person's hobbies and "needs", it may be a huge deal.  If you are able to downsize to a couple of totes, you don't have much to worry about. Otherwise, a larger rig with maximum basement space may prove valuable. The...

    A trailer for solar power?

I would not say it is a bad idea. However; there are many questions.  Why are you installing solar? What are you planning to accomplish? I live on solar and love it so I'm not saying it is bad or doesn't work, it's great and it does.  I'm just asking what YOU plan to do with it. Transferring...

    Lets talk solar panels

As you have found, there are all kinds of inaccurate rumors when it comes to solar. Solar absolutely works. I have lived on solar power for nearly five years and spend most of my time boondocking (no hookups). I didn't even own a generator until recently. The first thing I would do - in terms...

    Building a new System

Given what has been said here, I would say no.  I have a 24VDC bank and am very happy with it but, as you you've noted, it is supporting reasonably large loads AND high charge rates.

    Inverter installation

If we are talking about a larger inverter (i.e. 2000 watts), the major consideration is keeping the cables as short as possible between the battery and inverter.  Secondary consideration would be heat.

    Building a new System

A few more thoughts for the OP. Lithium batteries are MUCH lighter than lead acid. For example; My 10,000 Wh lithium bank weighs 230 lbs and measures 22? X 19?x 10?. I would need fourteen 6V batteries to achieve the same usable capacity. That would weigh approximately 1000 pounds and consume a...

    Selecting a Residential Refrigerator

One item to add Ernie - measurements/calcs to ensure you can get it into the RV - somehow. I installed a large Samsung (23 cu. ft., counter depth, 4-Door) and had it pretty easy getting it in. Not everyone has massive windows that completely open though!  ;)

MOVING TO CA / RV LIVING / HELP

How is it possible for a new/2018 to cost less than a used 2018??  Btw; other than (possibly) the rear camera, none the 'adds' to the used 2018 are significant.  Either the new is massively discounted or the private seller is very optimistic. The 2nd A/C on both of the used units is worth...

    Boondocking, Whats Your Record?

I guess I mis-understood the question. I thought it was more along the lines of how long can you make the resources in your rig last in a boondocking scenario.  Obviously, a person can stay parked in one spot forever by bringing in water as necessary and calling the poo truck when full.  My...
