    Crack in my fiberglass

I just found this problem today. Thre is a two inch crack in my finerglass skin, diagonally, about 2" long, right at the corner of one slide. My first thought is to drill a small, shallow hole at the end of the crack, then dremmel the crack out a bit for a bigger line and cleaning, then appoxy...

Has anyone sold their home to go full time in an RV?

I have been fulltime for 2 1/2 years now. Sold two houses, packed all the cash in the bank.  Loving it immensely, no end in sight. As for belongings, I had a huge moving sale, only kept all my household and garage stull.  Sold all the furniture. I have an 8 by forty shipping container with two...

    Ripped at Freightliner

Thanks for your input Gary, and I appreciate all of everyone's suggestions on this post. I suspect that each time any tech even looked at the coach, they logged an hour on the time sheet, not unlike attorneys do. The work was a simple brake shoe replacement on the driveshaft parking brake.  The...

    Ripped at Freightliner

It was never more than one tech. I was there, waiting patiently, each time it was worked on (3 times); when they took the driveshaft off, when they replaced the seal (didn't take much time at all), and when they put it back together. They did have another tech do a "completion inspection" before...

    Ripped at Freightliner

Thanks for your thoughts.  It was just the seal they replaced on the output shaft. I know they didn't have more than 3, maybe 4 hours, at $160. Once they found the brake shoes they put it all back together in less than an hour. I was in and out of the service center on a regular basis for all...

    Ripped at Freightliner

I recently had a driveshaft parking brake issue.  Freightliner charge me almost $1400 for labor to change out the brake shoes  Also had to pay for a output shaft that wasn't leaking when I pulled in. Is there anywhere I can find a specified labor rate for changing driveshaft brake shoes...

    Ink on ceiling

I scrapped my ink pen on my ceiling while reaching for a cabinet. It is an Alpine Coach and the ceiling is soft, like pushing on leather, but it's not.  I am afraid to try anything for fear of making a bigger stain. Any ideas?

Thanks for the heads up regarding traffic fines.  Like I said in my post, "oe so I've been told". I stand corrected.  Travel safe, Bob

There are no hookups on the beach at Pete's Camp.  We always use bottled water for drinking, and we brought all we needed from the USA.  They do have a dump station up above the office. I will say this. The whole trip was so relaxing.  You should also bring plenty of firewood for fires on the...

    Aluminum Blue Ox tow bar

Has anyone had any experience with aluminum tow bars?  Good, bad, indifferent?  Are they much lighter than the steel tow bars? Also, the Blue Ox Aventa that I have is causing damage to my bumper.  I can't figure out how it is cause it doesn't come in contact with the bumper. Any thoughts or...

Blue smoke - rear wheel well

I found my Dayton calipers at a parts house back east.  They are being shipped as I write this.  Naturally we will flush the brake fluid also.  Eryone has been very helpful here.  I'm grateful.    Bob

Blue smoke - rear wheel well

It's not a Workhorse chassis.  It is a Peak, made by Monaco.  The calpier is a quad piston.  These are hydraulic brakes.  I will check with Rock Auto and hopefully they can help.  I certainly appreciate your help on this.
