ok, thanks for the road info. we won't take the rig thu those passes. looks like the east entrance from cody direct to yp would be ok then. Just stay away from those 2 northern passes. thanks!
You mention the 80 mi lower loop. 30mph it would take 3 hours to make that loop. for an 8 hour...
what i'm wondering about for example if you just drove that north loop without stopping, how long would it take to get back to the fish ridge, fishing pier, forget the name, campground?
if there is an attraction on the northern area and it takes 4 hours to get there, you spend an hour or 2...
you are pulling a car?

check out this brand. Great quality and light.
I would get the suburban. Same vehicle just a foot or longer but makes all the...
cody to yellowstone has a scenic pass as well right? highway 16 perhaps? That is a high pass as well, but I believe it is more rv friendly with not as steep climbs and descents and without the hairpin turns?
looks like 212 and 296 and the steep grades with hairpin turns.
Many years back...
i have the heartland 31qbs. I believe the total length is 34' and a weight of 5600lbs dry. I towed it with full water with a 2003 hemi 1500 pickup. The dodge has a nice stiff suspension which handled the weight just fine.
A friend has a similar trailer but a little heavier he pulls with a...
30 foot 6000lb bumper pull with a cummins rig. friend has a 23 foot 3500lb bumper pull with a gas v8.
Both passes 10,000'+ I believe. I would like to go thru redlodge on the way there and on the return via the one south of beartooth via cody. Who has attempted this? Any advice? Or reason...
interesting thoughts and good advice! Thanks!
i was thinking just for night time. the fridge is suckin power and that's it besides lights. during the day i will turn one off to use microwave.
i will have to use some common sense on campgrounds. i assumed all the cb's are on the power box...
In ND we would just camp on the army cor land. Now we live in Minnesota and I am looking for a place to take the camper like you see in the brochures. haha! You know the pics, next to a stream and trees and no-one around. Do these places exist or just for the rv brochures? haha!
i got a couple of 1500w/1000w portable heaters. I can run 1 at full blast, but with 2 it tripps the CB. I was thinking of putting another wire from the electrical cable and install another outlet in the rear and let the other run off the wiring in the rig.
another thought was using an...
has anyone heard of modifying the tongue jack somehow to raise and lower the trailer with a cordless drill? perhaps it would just be easier to get an electric tongue jack. the hitch is 675lbs dry. any advice on a 3,000lb elec jack vs a 3500lb jack? Looks like the Barker VIP RV Power Jack has...
