    Telsa lays off 14,000!

I love having the backup camera and use it in conjunction with the mirrors but I wish there was a way to dim it. At night, when swinging my head from left mirror to right mirror, the screen feels like it blinds me temporarily (like turning on a light in the middle of the night) and I can't focus...

If you could, what would you tell your teenage self?

Suck it up - some day you'll be buying dorky clothes for your kids, too.

Weary of OTT hype stories about the Eclipse

I saw that briefly on the news Tuesday morning. It was sort of freaky to see that huge shadow moving over the earth. Sci-Fi movie stuff right there, LOL.

I wish they had these tire for motorhomes.

Michelin also makes versions for lawn mowers - I know John Deere offers some of their zero turn mowers with them. For car/truck use here in NY, regardless of how well they shake/spin out the snow and ice in motion, if snow/ice does freeze in there overnight, it would be a nightmare!

Weary of OTT hype stories about the Eclipse

Partly cloudy in several parts of central NY today but still got some good views! Glad I just stayed in my driveway for 99.7% totality based on the cloud-cover. It was strange how quiet it seemed to get. Not sure if it was nature getting quiet or just the lack of usual traffic on my road since a...

    Tragic, yet avoidable accident.

I believe Airstream doors open rearward. I've never understood why.

    Total Eclipse 2024?

My daughter and SIL are heading about an hour north for totality and then coming back to Utica, NY to the USA vs. Canada women's hockey game tonight! Hoping traffic does not mess with their plans!

    Total Eclipse 2024?

I'll be in a camp chair in my driveway. Many have suggested enjoying a Corona or Blue Moon but I happen to have some Modelo Negra on hand which seems appropriate as well.

    Earthquake in NJ

Heard about this from a coworker this morning. I live/work just north of Utica, NY. In and around Utica and Herkimer to the east, it was felt but I felt nothing here.

Everybody poops, but not everybody wipes correctly

    1. Yes, this is how Kim taught our girls. 2. Is this what I have to look forward to when I retire...WAAAAAYYYYY too much time on my hands? :ROFLMAO:

    Total Eclipse 2024?

I'll just lean over really far towards the west in my driveway chair, LOL. Seriously, though, I'm sure 100% is something to see (or not see?) but I would be miserable in what I assume will be crazy traffic where they are going so I'd ruin the trip for all of us. Everyone will be happier this...

    Total Eclipse 2024?

My wife and daughters are driving (together) about 90 minutes away so they can experience totality for about 3 minutes. I'll be sitting in my driveway and experiencing 99.7%.

Francis Scott Key bridge, Baltimore, MD

An unfortunate reality of our "right now" society. NTSB investigations can take months, if not longer, but the media pushes for immediate answers, points fingers, and will interview anyone willing to spew their opinion regardless of their actual knowledge. All this does is get the public in an...

how hard it is to back in covered park 12 feet wide when the RV is 8 feet wide

I have never backed into an enclosed space but a friend of mine backs his 5th wheel into his barn every fall - 12'x12' door. I've watched him backup in campgrounds - he's not that good, LOL. But slow and steady is what he preaches to park in the barn and so far he has not hit anything. He's put...

    Flying with a pet

A couple of years ago were were flying NY to FL and a woman sat next to me and put her bag under the seat. An hour or so into the flight, I reached down to get something out of my bag and a little dog popped his head out of her bag like "Hey, what's up?". Had no idea he was in there. Gave him a...
