    Zion NP rental car

A little off topic but you do not need a car in Zion. In fact you don't want one. There is also a shuttle in Sprindale. So unless you need it to leave the area or visit the east side of Zion (limited parking) you will be fine. If you already know this, sorry for going a tad off topic....

Utah Zion & area, Moab & area recommendations

Did a bicycle tour down that trail to the Colorado river ( jetboat ride back to Moab). That trail is QUITE steep....

    Yellowstone Camping Reservations

Already booked my reservations for Grand Tetons for Sept 2018. I did it months ago. I think the National Parks are either 11 or 12 months advanced booking. Highly recommend it.....

What have you done to resolve the choppy ride when towing on concrete roads?

    Still like this solution....  https://www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-Accessories_and_Parts-pc-Fits_2~1%7C2_Inch_Hitch.aspx

What have you done to resolve the choppy ride when towing on concrete roads?

I am assuming you are using a WDH to pull your trailer? If so change out your 2" shank on the WDH to a 2 1/2 inch shank. Not sure if it will help your ride but it makes a lot more sense to use the right shank instead of welding an adapter....

    Kayak

If you aren't pulling a toad how about a kayak trailer? John

    Yellowstone Camping Reservations

You are probably better off. Fishing Bridge is VERY cozy. You can look out your back side window right into your neighbors back side window. I prefer Grants Village and Madison Junction. But that is dry camping...

    Towing limits exceeded?

The rating for a class 4 hitch is what the HITCH can handle. That does not mean the vehicle can handle it. The yellow sticker that others have mentioned will give the maximum weight your vehicle can carry.  This includes stuff in the truck, passengers AND tongue weight. Tongue weight is 10 to 15...

    Fueling at truck stops

Now that I made the change from a gas MH to a diesel TV/TT I' m wondering about fueling up. Not really crazy about pulling into the gas/diesel pumps with a longbed truck and 33ft TT. So what is the lowdown on using the truck lanes? I read that you can use them. Any experiences or tips for doing...

    Trailer handling question

Thanks Gary, my gut was telling me the same thing. Especially after he told me he would have liked it one notch lower but that was the bottom rung. I was going to go to my local Truck accessory store and see if they have a shank with a longer drop. Also curious. My truck has class 5 hitch and...

    Trailer handling question

Well drove an 18 wheeler for about 2 years (long haul) but other than that no. I do know towing a 1500 pound trailer behind my 1500 ram was day and night different than this. Was unable to relax driving over 50 moh on the freeway.

    Trailer handling question

Okay finally pulled the new trailer and wasn't crazy about the ride. We have a 2017 Ram 2500 sportsman 4x4 diesel and a Jayco 28bhbe trailer with an Ezi Lift WDH. The hitch was set up by Camping World (I know, but they knew more than I did). The tech would have liked another inch lower on the...

How do you keep the memory foam topper on the bed?

Get a mattress protector. It is a fitted top with padding on the top. Put that over the topper. Keeps them together. If still loose I have joined up and attached corner straps to the protector that go completely across under the mattress.

    My setup

Dry  hitch weight is supposed to be 685 lbs.  Sounds like a little over 10%. So assuming we load it correctly the GVWR is  9250#. Hopefully we won't have that much. But I can see us in the 8,000# range. Two people, 3 kayaks, rack, and 2 bicycles I can see about 750 of our 2500 used up. Maybe...

    My setup

Trading in our Jayco Greyhawk 26DS class C next week and picking up a Jayco Jayflight 28BHSE (i think SE is correct). To tow it I traded in our Ram 1500 4x4 hemi for a new Ram 2500 4x4 long bed diesel. I have something like 2500 weight carrying ability and well beyond the trailer weight in...
