    Yosemite to Las Vegas

We have a 45' motor home. What's the best way to go from Yosemite to Las Vegas? We also tow a pick up but can drive separately when necessary.  CA has 45' length restrictions in some areas.

    where to stay.

Don't forget about Pilot/Flying J. We stop for fuel, spend the night. Sometimes they also have a Danny's so we can get a quick meal. Plenty of room.

    rethinking getting a puppy

We have two Yorkies which we got five years before we started full-timing we so we have some experience with this issue. Most campgrounds have this policy because of nuisance barking.  When we are gone we keep the shades closed so the dogs can't see people walking by and the TV on to help...

    Washer / Dryer vs Laundromat

Ours takes a couple of hours too!  ;D  I thought mentioning jammies was TMI so I didn't add ... reading the RV Forum ... eating breakfast ... making the bed ... doing breakfast dishing ... taking a shower ... getting dressed ... walking the dogs ... THEN folding and putting away the laundry!  :)

Retirement Papers Submitted, Full Speed Ahead for Fulltiming

Congratulations on your retirement, sale of your home and best of luck and joy on your next adventure. For many the tendency is to go "Full Speed Ahead".  My advise would be to slow down a little and don't try to do it all at once.  I know people who felt they had to see the entire country...

    Washer / Dryer vs Laundromat

Best part about having a washer and dryer in our motorhome is ... Got up this morning, put in a load of wash, reading my email in my jammies (I know, too much information) while laundry is getting done.  Before I'm ready to go for the day laundry is done.

US Public campgrounds/parks going to be privatized?

I don't remember where I read it but Death Valley National Park is not opening a number of their campgrounds this year because they do not have the staff to clean the restrooms.  So in this case the choice may be 1) don't open campgrounds at all or 2) turn them over to concessionaires. The...

State and national park list of maximum RV length

Some times it is not the length of the site that matters but the road getting to the site may have tight turns that would make it nearly impossible for a longer RV to navigate.

    Seeking Yosemite RV Camping Advice

When are you planning to visit?  After Labor Day there are more (all dry camping) sites available.  There is a 45 foot limit on the roads coming into the area so you will probably have to unhook your tow anyway. During the summer there will be up to 3 hour delays getting into the park and no...

Here we go... Camping World again

Why doesn't Camping World just donate the $2 million?  Why is it dependent upon my donation?  Why don't they just say ... Camping World is donating $2 million to Harvey victims ... Won't you make a donation too?  Then you can decide which organization you wish to donate to, like the Red Cross...

Class A -vs- Class C Gasoline

I don't think it is particularly important what WE think.  You have to look at what your needs are.  In general, a Class C will be smaller than and Class A.  Don't rule out a diesel.  Get the best you can for your budget.  Are you planning on towing?  What about a travel trailer or 5th wheel? ...

Looking for Florida Snowbird park that has activities and is fun. Ideas?

We stayed at Hide-A-Way RV Resort in Ruskin, FL for one winter (October through April).  It is just south of Tampa on Hwy 41 and north of Sarasota with easy access from I-75.  St. Petersburg is just across the Skyway Bridge, so there is plenty of access to shopping, entertainment, beaches. They...
