1 out of 4 tires has abnormal wear

Don/Rene, If it is a bad spindle, can the spindle be realigned or does the whole axle need to be replaced?

1 out of 4 tires has abnormal wear

Thanks Rene.  How much did it cost to get the axle aligned?

1 out of 4 tires has abnormal wear

I have 2013 model year Jayco Eagle 304 BHS with Carlisle Radial Trail RH ST225/75 R15 117N Load Range E tires.  I upgraded the tires from original Load Range D to E.  Just the rear tire on the driver side has abnormal wear.  The wear is excessive compared to the other 3 especially on the...

    3+ Week Trip to Maine

Sounds like a wonderful trip.  My daughters and I stayed in Blackwoods campground in Acadia last year (mid-August).  Beautiful campground but no hookups.  Took shuttle bus to all the trail heads and into town.  We also started in Michigan, but took the route through Canada.

High Pitch Noise from Water Heater

Thanks Gary.  I've flushed the tank at least 2X this year and no change. I am not familiar with re-establishing the air head.  What do you mean by that?  Thanks.

    ATWOOD water heater

What Gary said.  My Atwood water heater developed a leak on the outlet side.  I had to unscrew the plastic fitting, remove the old pipe sealant, apply new sealant and screw the fitting back in.  That took care of the leak.  Of course inlet side developed a leak few months later.  The sealant...

High Pitch Noise from Water Heater

Jerry, if it was the check valve, why would the noise occur as soon as the water heater was turned on and disappear as soon as the water heater was turned off?  Wouldn't the noise persist until the water cooled down if it was the check valve?  Thanks

    Consider travel trailer

Sparty, I do camp into late fall (through Thanksgiving if there is no snow).  As others have said, I have my trailer winterized and don't use the plumbing.  I also take a heater like this one...

High Pitch Noise from Water Heater

I recently noticed that there is a high pitched noise coming from my water heater.  I have an Atwood 6 Gal. water heater.  The noise disappears when the water heater is turned off and reappears when the water heater is on  (both electric or propane).  The water heater functions normally.  The...

    Consider travel trailer

Sparty, as it relates to campgrounds, the ones in national forests are great.  No hook ups, but a lot more space and privacy.  This Summer, we camped at Lake Michigan at Manistee.  We had our generator, but didn't use it.  We have 2 6V golf cart batteries and solar panels.  We ran fans a few...

My Travel Trailer Wiring -- found connector cap outside with electrical tape

This is the third one I've had and I really like it.  We did our family National Park trip this year to Rocky Mountain National Park.  It's about 1300 miles from my house in Michigan.  The F150 had no problems with the mountains except it consumed a lot more gas climbing the mountains.  The...

My Travel Trailer Wiring -- found connector cap outside with electrical tape

So, this past weekend, I finally broke down and got the Trimetric 2030RV battery monitor installed to replace a cheap meter that I used to measure volts, amps, watts, but didn't indicate the charge level of my battery.  I had to do a little rewiring and found by chance that a cable from my...

PSA: Don't neglect your hub bearing maintenance

Scott, Shops typically charge about $300 to repack bearings on 4 wheels by me.  However, every shop I spoke with lift the trailer by the axle and not on the frame.  Most of the time that they do this, it may be fine, but they could also easily bend the axle.  So, I continue to repack the...
