    Air Lift LoadLIFTER 5000 airbag

Have been running the 5000 with jounce bumper for a couple years now. Love them. Installed myself in the driveway with normal hand tools on a 2005 dodge Ram dually 2wd. I also went with there remote control air pump and single line. My only issue was the remote sensor/manifold. After about a...

Winegard RM-DM46 crank up satellite dish

I've had one installed on the last 2 5'ers. Since we have directv and don't subscribe to any HD channels so it worked great. Didn't have any digital readout, all manual but after a few times it took only minutes to lock on. I seemed to have better luck in lightly treed areas than those with the...

    Mor/Ryde Hitch

Not sure what you are describing, between hitch pin and hitch. I used a mor/ryde pin box on one of my past 5'ers and really liked it. Did a great job eliminating chucking.

    Fifth wheel pin stabilizer

Our 30' 5'er had quite a bit of rock. So I got the chocks that go between the wheels. After the third time of forgetting they were there and shooting them out the tires like a brick, they were no longer repairable and didn't really do that much good. So I got a tripod for the front and it worked...

    Propane Fire Pits

I'm all for the campfire when camping. But with the price of wood, and not wanting to take up space with firewood (and the travel restrictions), I abstain when traveling state to state. I like the idea of a propane firepit, and the cheaper choices that others mention. Will look into one before...

    # of bolts holding King pin box

I'd stick with the six bolts. Most 5th wheel hitches are adjustable up and down. Maybe raise the pin as much as you can utilizing all bolts, and then lowering the hitch in the truck, maintaining the 5 1/2" to 6" clearance between trailer and truck bed. If more is needed, quite a few trailers...

    Dually for first timer?

Here's my 2 cents worth.... I am currently on my 3rd dually. First one was a new '99 Chevy 2wd pulling a 31' fifth wheel. Way more truck than I needed, but pulled like a dream. Bought a 37' fiver and went from 10,000lbs to 15,000lbs and the old 454 was having troubles. Traded for a used '99...

    Ram 6.4 or cummins

Since you're only towing 10% of the time, and at 8000lbs, if it were me I'd opt for the gas engine. I currently own a 2005 cummins powered dodge and will have it until the wheels fall off. But if I were to opt for a new rig, I would go with a gasser. Don't get me wrong, the new Dodge/Cummins...

    Walked away from beautiful Toyhauler

For the most part delam is a cosmetic issue. Sometimes it's caused by water leaks that separate the glues. As long as the leak is properly repaired, it's strictly a cosmetic thing. Also it could just be that the glue separated on it's own or lack of glue itself. This seemed to be more common...

Crossing UP of Michigan - MI-28 or US-2?

Take US 2 out of St. Ignace, then 77 north to 28. This will take you past the Seney Wildlife refuge and is shorter than I-75 to 28. Fuel up in St. Ignace as there isn't much between there and Munising. Munising is the start off point to Pictured Rocks national park. Awesome to see if time...

    Washington, DC area parks ...

Planning the same trip only in June. Picked Cherry Hill Park because of the  amenities offered and the public transport stops right at the park.

Older, vintage trailers. The new fad?

Just with the little bit of research I've done trying to find info on this unit I've seen some of these old trailers for sale. I know us baby boomers have no problem paying good money for nostalgia, but WOW! I could see the cost with restored models, as I know the costs in restoring old cars can...

    Thor/Heartland buys Cruiser and Doubleday

These things happen in industry, part of the game. Sometimes good, sometimes not. Would think it best to let DRV run as a separate company, owned by Thor. Kind of like the Coachmen/Forest River kind of thing. But by reading the article, I'm confused. Are they going to bring the Landmark up to...

Older, vintage trailers. The new fad?

It's a 1972 Country Squire Brunswick made by Esquire. It is 27ft long. I'm having a hard time trying to find anything about it. So far I've found that they were in business from 1973 until 1988. Strange as the metal tag on the side of the RV states 3/28/1972. Also every model listed for a...
