    transporting a firearm

I am a concealed carry permit holder and have a handgun in the motor home or truck with me when on the road. I have seen twice recently on the news about the state of Maryland using license plate reader that are linked into numerous state concealed carry data bases. Seemed strange when I saw it...

    I 24 Monteagle TN

I will drive around rather than worry about it for several days. To me, the down side (South) is worse. This i supposed to be fun and that isn't fun, On the way up (North), you don't need your speedometer, just watch your fuel gauge go down. I had a problem when a boat pushed me down the...

    Walmart vs the other guy

That Wal-Mart driver that was in the accident after being up for 24 hours was not driving for Wal-Mart all of the time. He came to work having been up for 15 hours and was well within the 11 hour federal rule strictly enforced by Wal-Mart. He lied about his status when he came to work and...

    Dead chassis battery question...among others

i have a similar problem on my Itasca and have been unable to find the stray charges. I installed a quick battery disconnect. I did one on my coach and engine batteries. They are around $6 or so and can be bought at Napa or similar stores. It only takes me about 30 seconds to turn them on or...

    New windshield curtains

We rarely use the curtains and use two Camping world folding foil covered sun protectors. The curtains had to be folded back and took a little while to close. These units go up and down in less than a minute and fold up for easy storage.

New Winnebago Purchase - the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

We attempted to overnight at Camping World Fort Myers (my birth place) and the overnight guard at the storage place next door started playing a music system extremely loud and got very nasty when we asked him to turn it down. This was at the store location, not the RV center on the East side of...

    Transport of firearms in RV

Every year in the House of Representatives, there is a bill passed to set up some sort of commonality on transportation of firearms between states. It never gets brought up in the Senate. It uses some common sense overkill regulations like having the weapons and ammo locked up in separate boxes...

How all troopers should handle left lane slow drivers

That could not have been here in Florida because they did not have their left blinker on from yesterday. Driving slower than the flow is the largest cause of accidents. Even driving the limit in the fast lane is stupid because you open yourself up to being hit. That lane is for overtaking.

    Backing a tow vehicle

In well over 50,000 miles, we have had to decouple only 3 times. I might point out that all 3 were my wife's fault. Actually not true, but she doesn't read this. Being careful isn't a problem.

    The epitome of capitalism

I worked at least half of the Thanksgivings and Christmas the first 30 years in the fruit juice business and all of them the last 10 years in the lodging business. It was known going in and just part of the job. We always tried to make it up for employees after the fact with paid time off and...

OK I need a TOAD..I want to do 4 down flat towing. What tow gear? TOAD?

On your toad braking system, you will thank yourself many times over if you get one that has everything under the hood. Having to hook up one between your seat and the brake pedal hundreds of times can get old. Proportional braking is nice and getting one that has an indicator light in the...

    Workhorse chassis advice

I have a W-22 2004 Workhorse chassis and one of my 3 brake failures happened on the Blue Ridge Parkway almost resulting in my family's ending up at the bottom of a cliff. I will never take my Workhorse anywhere near a mountain again. I had the worst customer service I have ever experienced from...

    Snowbirding Advice Needed!

As a native of Florida and a long time RVer, I can tell you that getting a site in Jan, Feb, and March can be tough. This has eased up a little with the recession, but many parks only have a limited number of sites available for nightly or weekly rental. They want the 3 or 4 month rentals. Get...

    Forest City

Each year about this time, Winnie sells 700 to 800 unit for rentals to Alaska. They keep them across the street. People can take them up there for a fairly cheap rental of 10 days or pay for longer, The rental pays the fuel. We talked to several that had done it for a number of years. They took...
