    Camping with Pets

Wow - I am grateful for these great honest answers and advice.  One other question - I am pretty sure where I am going to keep the cats litter box inside the trailer - but wondered if anyone had any clever suggestions about what they have done. Thanks again.

    Camping with Pets

We are getting ready to retire - finally committed to a date - and planning our first cross country trip across the south during the fall/winter of 2020.  Seems like a ways off - but a lot to do to prepare and time has a way of creeping up! Because our trip will be about 6 months in length - we...

First time cross country, reservations and contingencies.

I also am planning our first cross country when we retire in approximately 18 months, so reading this is very helpful. I also want to spend our time driving as little as possible per day and enjoying being at a location. We will have 6 months to be on the road - as we want to do it during the...

    Kitchen cabinet organization

I have found clear plastic shoe boxes to be a perfect size. I can fit two ceramic mugs and two tall plastic drinking glasses in one, I keep utensils in another, spices and sorted cooking stuff in another. Sometimes I use the covers and sometimes not. They are inexpensive and so, so useful.

    Explosions at the Boston Marathon

We live south of Boston. They shut the cell phone service down after the explosions as they were concerned about additional bombs being detonated by remote/cell phones. The Patriots game was cancelled as well. Yes - it's another sad day in our country. The world is a scary place.

Buying a generator, and some propane questions

My husband spent months researching this. Hondas are known for being the quietest - but can also be up there in the price range. We wound up getting a Ryobi which is pretty quiet too and about half the price of the Honda. Plus, I opened up a charge card at Home Depot where we purchased it and...

    Trailer ordering questions

We have an outdoor kitchen on our 21.5ft CruiserRV too. Although it wasn't on our wish list when looking to buy - it certainly was an attraction and I can tell you - I prefer using it not only for cooking but to wash my dishes as well. That extra refrigerator is great because not only do we...

    RV Storage Cover

We bought an ADCO cover last fall to cover our TT. It did a good job, considering we had a lot of snow and wind and a lot of tree breakage this past winter (Massachusetts). It actually took us two hours to put the cover on. Before we put it on, we cleaned the trailer. My husband got on the roof...

    Clever way to replace dinette?

If you google "chair sleepers" you fill find chairs that open up into beds. Walmart has them and I'm sure there are lots of other places. I guess you'd have to check the dimensions to see if they'll fit when they open. As far as a dining table, there are also a lot of folding tables that open up...

first trip of the season with new TT

The maiden voyage is always so exciting! We are a year ahead of you - purchasing our TT last year at this time. Our first overnight was actually in our driveway and then we started venturing to area campgrounds and casino parking lots. This is a good time of the year to go also - before school...

    Cleaning awning

Before we covered our camper last fall, we cleaned it thoroughly, which included the awning. The underside of the awning had some mold spots and I cleaned that with a little bleach and water on a rag, attached to a broom pole (because I am only about 5'2") and just rubbed it on those spots. Then...

    RV show

We have a 2500HD Chevy Silverado - 3/4Ton is the best way to go.

    RV show

My husband and I went every year for about 4 years to all the RV shows in the area, before we finally bought a travel trailer. It is definitely a fun way to spend a Sunday and a great way to see a lot of different types of RVs in one place. You can get an idea of pricing as well. For years, we...

    need some help

We have a 21.5' trailer and just got another Silverado 2500HD w/tow package - 2010, 32,000 miles for $18,500 with full warranty - so to pay $30,000 for a used with 62,000 miles I think is very high. I think you definitely need a 3/4ton and I would shop around a bit for a better deal.
