    Minimalist guitar for guitar players

Here's a unique design for those in a minimalist mode.  Odd looking for sure...reminiscent of a sitar... http://www.destroyallguitars.com/newarrivals-guitars/6319-the-gittler-guitar

Coleman ac squeaks on start up

I had to replace my old Coleman because I did not know about the lube points.  On mine, there were two small yellow plastic plugs that when removed gave access to the bearings around the shaft.  You are supposed to oil here.  I am not sure if yours is the same as mine (mine was on a 1990...

    I'm hanging up the keys

Grits are real popular in The Bahamas.  One favorite eating fish there is the grunt and the meal is "grunts and grits."  Another popular dish is "boiled fish," sort of a fish stew served with grits and a piece of Johnny Cake. Some places serve this every day while some only serve it on Sundays.

When eating grits, never, I repeat never purchase instant grits...get real grits that require some amount of cooking effort.

In the South we have another use for grits.  If you are plagued with fire ant nests, sprinkle some raw, uncooked grits on the nest.  The ants will carry the grits below, the other ants will eat them, and they'll be killed when the grits swell due to moisture in the ants GI tract.

In the south we eat grits with butter and salt, occasionally pepper to taste.  Using sugar or honey on grits tells everyone that you are a "Yankee."  My father was Greek and he loved grits, he turned me on to them as a child.

Tom,     Good luck with your new lifestyle.  I know what you mean about re-entering the band lifestyle.  I did that two years ago and it left precious little time to travel.  Luckily we took this winter off and I've been moving between Ohio and Florida for the last three months, one reason...

overnight spot on the east side of Atlanta

There are two decent campgrounds east of Atlanta.  Riverside Estates RV Park in Covington, Georgia, exit 88 on I-20 eastbound.  Twenty-five miles further east is Country Boys RV Park in Madison, Georgia, at the 441 exit on I-20 East, exit 114.  Riverside Estates is the site the old Yellow River...

Memphis vs Nashville - how to split the time?

Hmmmm...tough choice.  Memphis for the Blues, or Nashville for Country...or does the music carry any weight in your decision?

    He stopped loving her today

Say what you will about George, but he sang what is arguably the greatest love song in country music (He Stopped Loving Her Today).

    Travel "guitars?"

I just ran across this electric guitar by Stewart Guitars.  The neck is removable for easy traveling.  The design is similar to a Fender Strat with a neck similar to a Steinberger. http://www.stewartguitars.com/
