    Installing a ladder?

Thanks everyone. I'd have no problem with a jaws ladder, but would prefer a permanent one that always stores itself. I wonder if I should try contacting the manufacturer and see what they say? I sure hope its a walk on roof. I've been walking on it. Lol The maxxair are the ones I had my eye...

    Installing a ladder?

Hello everyone. Its soon going to be time to hit the road and do some camping. Last year was our first season with a TT. There is 2 things at the top of my list to do. Get some covers over the roof vents so I can leave them open when it rains. They look to be fairly simple to install and not...

    TT construction and brands

I've heard lots of good things about Jayco as well. I think they come with 2 year factory warranty also. We recently purchased our first tt (26' zinger). Looking back, I think I would pay more attention to the Jayco if I were to do it all again. Our trailer isn't terrible, but there are some...

    One brake not working?

That's great. Thanks Gary. I was wondering if the drum needed to be on. So after reading that article, I'm thinking that turning the wheel slowly by hand may not produce enough friction. I'm again thinking that it may have been an adjustment issue. I'm going to leave it for now and monitor temps...

    One brake not working?

Hello All. One of my tt brakes isn't working. I had noticed that it was a fair bit cooler than the other 3. When I have someone apply the brakes, I can hear noise, but I can still turn the wheel. Pulled the drum off, didn't see much wrong so I thought maybe it was out of adjustment. I adjusted...

    How to repel rodents

I think I'll save the dough and park it out back uncovered. I've had a few people tell me that they only cover the AC unit. I'm not entirely sure that's a good idea. I used to cover my home AC unit over the winter. The cooling fins have started to corrode and fall off. A heating/cooling guy...

    Getting ready for winter.

Interesting thought Cowhead. Even if you didn't blow it out after should work. If there's a chance the pink could freeze, I wonder why people just don't flush and drain the pink?

    What caulking to use?

Thanks everyone. I guess for the roof, I'll get some Dicor. As for the rest, it seems that not everyone agrees. Maybe I'll just have to figure out what works by trail and error. It does seem that most agree that silicone won't stick to silicone. Will the permaseal stick to the old silicone...

    What caulking to use?

I will soon need to store our TT for it's first winter. I think when I'm done using it for the year, I will add some caulking in any suspect areas. Should I be using something specific to RV's? Or just pick up from the hardware store? Thanks.

    How to repel rodents

Do you think I'd be better off storing outdoors? I have room and would be free. I just worry about things like snow load, ice, freezing and thawing. I've heard that some think its a good idea to cover it and some think its a bad idea so I'm really not sure what to do. Anyone tried Fresh cab...

    How to repel rodents

Does anyone have some tricks as to how to deal with deterring wildlife from entering a trailer? I guess I'm asking this for two reasons. On our most recent trip, friends of ours had a continuous issue with a squirrel entering the underside of the trailer. They actually could not get him out. We...

    Tow capacity?

Well, we just got back from our first camping vacation. It is certainly a bit heavy for the truck, but it can be done. It wasn't a horrible tow. I guess the tail wagging the dog comment would be fitting. We're thinking of getting a seasonal site next year. If not, I should definitely look into...

    Tow capacity?

    Tow capacity?

For the time being, I'm planning to pull it anyway. Gary mentioned above that I need to be concerned about the GAWR. How do I tell how close I am to that?
